I like it cold, so I lay plastic wrap onto the pudding to prevent a skin from forming, all the while thinking about all the horrible chemicals that are getting into my wonderful pudding. As I type this, I think I will transfer my next batch into a heavy pitcher made of glass, so there will be less surface area on top, and either learn to like the skin or just toss it and be done with it.
My mom and I argue over who gets to eat the pudding scum when we make it together, it's my favourite part :)

By request, a couple days of my exciting  meals....

Yesterday, I started with my pint of chocolate goat's milk, and then three eggs scrambled in butter. For lunch, a big hunk of goat cheese make with kefir as the culture and a bit of rennet, from a recipe in Wild Fermentation and some leftover collard greens cooked in salt pork....about 4-5 servings. For supper, about a cup of homemade kamut egg noodles topped with a cup of spaghetti sauce from our own tomatoes and herbs, and lots of brocolli on the side...about 5 servings. The tomato sauce was two veggie servings, so that brought me to 11-12 for the day. One fruit: I had a lime/stevia vodka collins and some buttered popcorn in the evening.

Today...same breakfast, pint of milk and three eggs with butter. Quick lunch of two pieces of sprouted grain toast with lots of butter. Then the company meal of turkey pot pie made with a TON of veggies: carrots, rutabaga, turnip, green beans, brocolli, carrots, rosemary, scallions, garlic, broth, and turkey. Topped with whole wheat biscuit dough made with freshly ground soft white wheat berries, kefir, butter, sea salt, baking powder....fermented 24 hours before adding the last two ingredients. A big salad based in baby spring greens, nice and colorful, dressed with homemade dressing made with fermented Italian herbs from the garden, raw ACV, and organic expeller-pressed canola oil. Although I don't know how canola can really be organic....oh, well. It was a hit.

I had a few less veggies today than yesterday, but when people scooped out servings of pot pie, they tended to scoop more biscuit and leave some veggies behind. I cleaned all those up, so proportionally I got more veggies. Probably at least 10 servings. I had about 4 grain carb servings today. I may have more popcorn....haven't decided yet!

I haven't had much time lately to really read much here, I just fly through looking for recipes and food stuff....now I am getting on a bus for 15 hours tomorrow (several buses, actually) and have packed my food for the day. Here it is:

Before I leave, I will have my supplements and my morning mochatonix with goat's milk.

I packed three "feed bags" of veggies: carrots, snow peas, cukes, rutabaga

Three peeled oranges

One peeled and slice avacado...I am not happy with the ripeness, so I may or may not eat it

A pound of cooked bacon....a few ounces by the time it was cooked crispy, the way I like it

About 6 ounces of cheddar

Dip for the veggies: Drained kefir flavored and put into two half-cup containers....one garlic and onion, one is parmesan peppercorn

Two little bags of my treat for the trip, plantain chips

A buncha biscuits, made with whole wheat (freshly ground soft white wheat and a bit of kamut), kefir (soaked 24 hours), baking powder, and sea salt. I cut them in squares after patting the dough out onto a baking sheet oiled with EVOO. They will be eaten with various combinations of cheese, avacado, and bacon, and maybe the dips if I feel like it.

A water bottle with a built-in filter that I can re-fill in the bathroom or at a water fountain.

Tea bags and stevia in case I have access to hot water at stops.

I'll be out of town and won't have access to the internet, so :frow for a few days!

The bus trip was a NIGHTMARE and I will never ride a bus again if I can avoid it!!! Actually, I was on three different buses, and it was Greyhound that was amazingly poor service. Amazingly. They will be getting a bunch of letters. Thank goodness I brought good food. There was no time to get anything....just a quick run to a vending machine once. Unreal.

The trip back was fun, too. My parents moved in with us and I went to drive their car and my dad drove a U-Haul. We planned it around the weather, and guess what? Of course! We had a snow and ice storm that wasn't in the original forecast! Within a few minutes of the storm's first flakes, there were 4 vehicles off the highway in less than five miles. We got off and got a hotel for the night. It was still too icy to leave until 10 this morning. I'm so pooped I can hardly type!

Off to finish chores while dh makes supper. I already hugged everyone and fed some hay, now they all need water and one needs milking. I'd rather play with my critters that rattle pots and pans right now.

Can't wait to have a big glass of milk. My stomach hurt all day today, after we ran out of prepared food and had to buy fast food. It was too slippery to drive around, so we stopped at the closest store, Tim Horton's. The were OUT OF BACON! This was while we were waiting for dh to look up some prices of the nearby hotels, and tell me where the closest grocery store was. I had to go to a grocery store to buy some rolled oats for dad's hens, so I got some carrots and apples and snacks for us, and the hens got a couple of the apples, too. I bought some more tea, too, and we had some tortilla chips and vodka and orange juice. So there. :plbb

LOL

No kidding!

My son got equally yucky service from Greyhound. We wrote letters. We got a reply that basically said "Thanks for writing!". Yeah... helpful. :he
