Just checked yet again, every couple hours or so, and she is still holding out! She is still acting "different" but not so imminent. She did trick me last year, though. She buried her face in my hands and then against my legs just now. She is sooooooo tired! I put her outside for a little fresh air for an hour before sundown since it was neither raining nor snowing, and it took her some effort to get her big self over the door sill. Then when I fed the chickens, standing at the gate and tossing whole corn, she came over and tried to put her feet up on the gate to stand up and beg for corn. It was so ridiculous that I put a few kernels in my hand and held it low for her just so she wouldn't hurt herself!
DH is out there now trying to figure out why my heat lamp isn't working. I'm not functioning at my peak today so I gave up when I tried a few things and it wouldn't turn on....it turned on earlier when I checked the lamp and the bulb. But of course, once it is installed and now I have to crawl up the hay bales and up in the rafters to change anything, now it isn't working! I want it on just in case she slips those babies out between my checks.
I will continue to check every two hours until I see more of a change. I'm thinking tomorrow now, though.
