Just checked yet again, every couple hours or so, and she is still holding out! She is still acting "different" but not so imminent. She did trick me last year, though. She buried her face in my hands and then against my legs just now. She is sooooooo tired! I put her outside for a little fresh air for an hour before sundown since it was neither raining nor snowing, and it took her some effort to get her big self over the door sill. Then when I fed the chickens, standing at the gate and tossing whole corn, she came over and tried to put her feet up on the gate to stand up and beg for corn. It was so ridiculous that I put a few kernels in my hand and held it low for her just so she wouldn't hurt herself!

DH is out there now trying to figure out why my heat lamp isn't working. I'm not functioning at my peak today so I gave up when I tried a few things and it wouldn't turn on....it turned on earlier when I checked the lamp and the bulb. But of course, once it is installed and now I have to crawl up the hay bales and up in the rafters to change anything, now it isn't working! I want it on just in case she slips those babies out between my checks.

I will continue to check every two hours until I see more of a change. I'm thinking tomorrow now, though.

And I hope you have the perfect number of lambs, too! I don't dare hope for anything. I got exactly what I wished for last year, two doelings to keep. Can't keep any this year, so I won't wish.....sigh.

Most of the animals I've had over the years....and there have been many.....are with me their entire lives. Even if that means freezer camp. This will be new and tough for me.

Meanwhile, back at the farm....

Ginger is still holding out and is quite curious at my visits. She is very much enjoying the undivided attention she is getting and now holds still for her lovin's. :love Usually her daughter would come shove her way in, then Plum would hover nearby, looking hopeful, and then the pygmies would push through and demand some scratchings. Now Ginger is getting the proper princess treatment. Sigh. I lubs her.

DH got the heat lamp working. Actually, he replaced it with the one in the cellar that was ready for the brooder. We put 41 eggs into the incubator this evening.

I have to decide how often I will go out there tonight. Not feeling well tonight. But I will feel far worse if something bad happens, so....the spring peepers are out tonight! It is definitely warmer, even though there are hunks of snow and ice still and I just tripped on one and stepped right out of my barn boot in the mud in the dark, and had to hop around and feel around for my shoe! :p

Dang doe code. Sure is peaceful out there, though. Tempted to curl up under the heat lamp with Ginger and finish out the night in the barn. Didn't.

I set alarms....she is outside now, I kicked her out of the stall. She still doesn't want to come out. She is getting spoiled and liking it too much! But I am checking on her every two hours now. I can feel ligaments again. Sheesh! I swear she makes 'em go soft so I'll bring her more treats!
