Well, stuff like dandelion has a lot of vitamins and minerals in it. If you soak the leaves in vinegar you get all the nutritious goodness without having to eat those bitter greens.

I made some last year with dandelion leaves, plantain, and chives, then used it to make "spring tonic" salad dressing.

It wasn't bad at all. Just wanted to see if anyone does anything like that. Here are a few places I checked out before trying it...

Thanks for posting the sites above. I'm interested in trying the dandelion thing along with the nettles.

I'm going to put you in my will. :old

You greedy thing, you! None to share? I love grasshopper heads! Adds a nice crunch to baked goods.... :D

Well, after a good, hard frost last night, the dandelion flowers decided to hide out for warmer weather, so I will have to be patient :ep and wait for them to show their cheerful faces to the sun.....so I can be-head them and eat them!

First time I have read a recipe about fried dandelion flowers!

My grandpa used to pay us to pick the flowers for dandelion wine, but I have no idea what he did to make it or how it tastes.

I usually like to fry squash flowers and orange daylilies in a similar fashion to your recipe.

First time I served fried blossoms hubby looked at them - looked at me - shook his head, then sighed deeply and scooped them on his plate. Now they are actually a request around this table.

That's hilarious!! My kids have learned to always get the list of ingredients before eating. Those good little buggers are even starting to get a kick out of eating weird things! :hugs
