I think spouses something feel like the computer stuff gets in the way of real life. I could spend all day on here and get nothing done.
I learn so much here that sometimes it is a challenge to keep it in balance.

Dace, that's the way I feel. Yesterday was one of those kind of days. But today I got twice as much done, so I can tell (brag) about it here ;)

Hmmmm . . . well, I guess I am rather lucky. My DH is all for SS. I suppose it's because we are on the same page. He actually likes the ideas we share.

Sometimes, he even says "Why don't you ask about it on SS?"

So, all of you who are out there trolling for a good man, :smack :gig :gig :gig

I just keep telling dh.....I learned this on ss today! Isn't that wonderful! Here, have another serving, isn't it delicious? Oh, and I saved $____ today from an idea I got on ss! Isn't that wonderful! Hey, come read this....isn't it funny/interesting/etc?

And I don't bug him when he watches a game on tv....
I do almost the same thing with my Dh. I make suggestions and come up with plans and ideas, he knows they all stem from what I am discussing here. He sees my accomplishments and figures I must be learning something.

Again, I invited DW to join us, she is reading the post I make anyway, so why shouldn't she join us?

I feel like a step child, but she is ready to pounce on the idea of being SS as best we can. Bragging up to folks how our eggs are better than most, not to mention my "our garden" and how we will produce/can over 60% of our own food.

DW is all up in arms at me posting, had a hay day with me when I took a day off, and made funnies all day here.

What DW is forgetting, I am doing this for my family. It is what it is, just living......

I think DW is not aware of the effort needed to keep a good garden and canning food for winter.

SO before you doom me to hell, I have many friends here, and I decided that you need to trust me more.

JOIN the site, we have many friends here.

I agree! All she has to do is read Bee's journal and she'll be laughing so hard that she will forget all about being weird about you posting! I read stuff out loud to my DH and he still thinks I'm weird but he likes all the stuff we're doing soooooo......keep on posting, we like your ideas! DW join us.....come to the dark side.......muahahahahahahahaha ;)

I love my DW know matter what, she is a great friend, and very loving/kind. She makes me think more, and often brings a more softer/kinder way to deal with people which I am lacking. I am carved from old stock, if you read my journal you know the kind of stock.

Sure, I have been at my ends with her from time to time, she knows this, today I worked until just before eight this evening in my garden at Paul Sr. place, not a single phone call. There I was working the soil, tilling in weeds, pulled weeds and harvested between 15-20 pounds of green beans. On top of a full days work, its like getting rid of stress through gardening. Instead of calling me 3-4 times, which she knows I am just right up the hill from her.

She told DS to call, well DS called me for the first time, and asked when I would be home for dinner? I told him to tell her to eat without me as I was working in the garden. So the family ate dinner without me for once. I came home this evening and ate a cold dinner, giving the amount of work that was needed to be done, it wasn't so bad. I also enjoyed my time working the garden without so many interruptions.

I know she has major problems with me posting on this board, the only board I have ever posted on.

I would think that we, us, have invited her to join us enough times, that she just gets we are all just friends.

That's it in a nut shell, friends. We share a common intrest, and it is what it is, folks jib-jabbing about SS stuff.

Keep plugging away at it m_p. SO is slowly, but surely coming 'round.
This is also a place to get away from it and take a break. Instead of going to a bar or a coffee shop to hang out with like minded people, I come on here. I am physically still in our house, and no-one is bothering him. He doesn't have to stop what he is doing and entertain someone.
I always ask him to join me and read stuff to him. He is beginnign to firgure out, how much I learn on here. I'm forever saying "Onglearned this from the self suffiecient forum"
I am much more likely to try something out, after spending time on here.
But now I have to go and join him for some television watching, so he won't feel left out. ;)
