Absolutely agree! Even the most seasoned of the racers out there said they'd never seen anything like it. I go strictly to support the fam. But I do believe that seeing all the falls was good for my grandson to see how badly it could go and to be a lot more careful.

for myself i should have known better considering the family history and also my own history, but i still persisted and ended up with a broken shoulder blade. my other three siblings had various episodes with motorcycles too and they've not been on them since. some people are ok on them and driving them, but i'm surely not one of them.

Wow, couldn't enjoy that sport! Glad both yours are ok.
I think the only ones who truly enjoy it are the riders that make it off the track in one piece, lol. It's a horrible spectator sport from my point of view. Even SIL, who was a spectator for the first time, watching GS, said it was a lot more scary watching a loved one out there! He was a nervous dad.

Moving quail around this morning. Had over 50 in the brooder. Need to find space outside for them now that they're growing up. And, I'm tired of having a stinky garage.

Beau has an appointment for his endoscopy next Monday. We have been on this path since early July. He had a rough July - but a good August and half of September - but now he is at an impasse. Hoping the endoscopy gives us answers and a solution. I will tell the veterinarian in charge that if they find a dire situation while they are scoping him to not wake him up. :( He's been through enough and I won't watch him starve to death. However, on a good note, after appetite stimulant drugs he ate decently tonight.

That's hard. I agree with you. I won't make them suffer just so I get more time with them. When Baymax gets below a certain weight I will let her go. She lost so much weight that her eyes sunk and she was blind for a few weeks. She went downhill terribly while being boarded for a couple weeks this summer. She regained vision in one eye. But now her hind end weakness is progressing. She has GOLPP. Neuropathy is awful ☹

What appetite stimulant worked for Beau?

FEM I am so sorry for Beau. I know this only makes you more dedicated to this breed. I understand about not waking him up, you are not selfish and would rather give him up than drag out a painful little more time. Big hugs.

It's called Capromorelin. It works within several hours. Listed side effects are vomiting and diarrhea... But, Beau has done well on it. What I don't understand is why they only provide 3 days worth at a time. Geeze people, you know our next appointment is a week away because they made the appointment!

He is prescribed 2.5mls every 24 hours - unfortunately the effects don't last 24 hours for him. He ate pretty well last night, but turns his nose up at everything this morning - except ice. He loves ice.

Just another day in paradise. It rained and rained and rained today. We have been dry for awhile so it's ok....except it's going to continue to rain for the next week or so. What else is new in this part of the world?

DH had a couple of doc appt's today. He's doing ok and that's a good thing.

My annual pig buyer called me today. He wants several and he'll butcher some for me at the same time. It's a sweet deal. Probably be a few weeks, but he'll come through. It'll help with the feed bill for sure.

Want to know how to make your early morning coffee wake you up even faster than normal? It doesn't even require caffeine. When your DH descales the coffee maker with vinegar and leaves some in the water reservoir. Vinegar coffee is a no good, very bad thing! Extremely spit worthy! 🤮

Woke up at 4:48am. Seems that is increasingly becoming my normal wake up time (and I hate it). 4:48 is no time to be getting out of bed. Took the dogs out early and fed the little birds. I have some young chickens that are fully feathered and have been moved outside. Little creeps didn't want to stay where I put them so they have liberated themselves of the nice, safe place that I put them. I'm not about to go chase them down and re-pen them in the ankle deep slop that is my front barnyard right now after 2+ inches of rain yesterday and last night. More to come - yay! However, the little ducks are loving it! I understand now that a cozy, comfy, warm duck house means absolutely nothing to them. Sheesh.

Gotta get cleaned up and head to town. Need bird feed and will spend another small fortune trying to find something that Beau finds delectable. Also going to look around for things I might need to stock up on...not much falls into that category, but I'll look anyway. Probably need some paper towels, but won't be upset if the stocks are low. I really kind of hate spending money on something that just gets thrown away.
