How are you doing? Haven’t heard from you for a few days. Sending hugs.
Thanks! Can never have too many hugs!

I'm staying busy keeping the hands and the mind occupied. Taking DH to an eye doc appt. this morning and going to lunch with a friend later.

Took DH to the eye doc earlier today. Got his prescription and went and picked out new glasses. Another chore down. Appt with a spinal pain specialist next week. Don't hold out a lot of hope, but...

Unloaded feed and felt a few sprinkles. Decided that I should mow before the real rain starts. I like mowing. It's kind of nice to have a job that accomplishes a lot without a whole lot of physical or mental effort from me, lol. Know what I don't like? Mowing when it's windy. Every time I turn a corner the wind picks up all the tiny little pieces of grass and blows them right in my face. I can close my eyes (for a second or two) and I can even hold my breath - but I can't close my ears, lol. I've been picking grass bits out of my ears for a few minutes now. Can't even see in there to know if I got it all! Ugh! You know what else is bad about mowing? When you finish up, put the mower away and turn around and see a two-inch, 2 ft long, little strip of grass that you totally missed. Not even going to look at it again. Gonna pretend that it doesn't exist. Sigh...

Picked up some ground beef on sale and will grill a bunch of burgers tomorrow when the weather clears up. DH loves him a burger more than anything else in life. I'll put a few in the freezer for easy meals. Grabbed a couple smallish pork shoulders because they were on sale too. Freezer is full again.

Need to go milk before the rain starts. Just milking one gal right now. Don't really need more - I milk once a day and get 1/2 gallon. That's plenty for DH and me. If I want more, I'll pen up some kids and milk somebody else.

Are you getting hit by this Destructive Thunderstorm? Houston News says it is equal to a catagory 1 hurricane.
Thank goodness - no! Pretty far north of me right now and moving mostly east. If it moves more south the tail end might clip us - but so far so good. My brother is in Baytown and in the direct path right now.

How about you?

Great ideas ya'll.

Whoops - seems like the foul weather has found us. Gusty winds and thunder. Hope the power stays on. I meant to put fuel in the generator earlier, but didn't get to it. If we lose power now I'll be fueling it up in the dark - ugh. Over 850K folks without power in the Houston area.

We escaped the worst of it. Ended up with 1.25 inches of rain that we really didn't need.

We need some sunshine now. Hay needs to grow so it can be harvested. I'm about to open my last bale of hay. There is some hay available in a few places but they're charging "you were too stupid to get enough hay last year" prices. :th
