That is so cool. I wish those programs were everywhere! I was a special education teacher, so I know a lot about the struggles kids go through that derail them on their way to college. I primarily worked with kids with autism, many of whom were very low functioning but I did have some students with aspergers or high functioning autism that had the brain but not the other skills.

Anyway that's way cool, no wonder you like your job!

Sorry 'bout the appt though. Ugh! :he

Thanks, just part of the master plan I guess, lol.

We had a high functioning Aspergers student in our program. Brilliant kid... but soooo socially challenged. One of the best things I ever saw was that one of our other students (a "tough" girl) took him under her wing and protected him until they both graduated. Talk about the odd couple, lol! He has gone on to get married and is now running his father's business...she barely got through school but eventually found her calling and is now teaching! Makes my heart smile!

Will be debuting my new "fashion statement" boot tomorrow at work. Maybe it'll get me some sympathy, lol!

Well... the boot didn't work out so well for me. Without the boot I have a sore foot. With the boot I have a sore foot, a sore hip and a sore back. That thing threw me so out of balance that I hurt worse after wearing it...so...not gonna wear it. (except when I go back to the doc so she'll think I've been following orders!) Finally got an MRI scheduled - next Thursday. Geeze, I wanted it like tomorrow. GRRRRR! Actually next week might be ok, cuz I'm gonna think positively that my foot is going to heal itself so I can cancel the MRI and throw that stinkin' boot away!

Holy cow - new symptom. Ya'll are living this with me RIGHT NOW. :ep I can no longer move my little toe on my sore foot laterally. I can move it up and down, but not side to side. Oh the drama, lol! I can't even get sympathy from DH. HIs answer when I tell him I can't move my toe - is that he can't feel his. Diabetic neuropathy and all that. I told him to shut up this was MY issue and he can't out problem me, lol! I amuse myself

Anyway:
Been breeding goats like crazy round here - what am I thinking?! I have 32 goats now - who needs more than that? But, I love the babies! What I'm gonna do different this year is sell them little suckers when they're babies. Gonna pull each and every buck - at least - and sell them as bottle babies. Famous last words, huh?

AND - we're getting a "not so hot" front tonight. S'posed to be a low of 58 tomorrow morning. I HOPE THEY'RE RIGHT!

I love it. This is about MY toes not yours!

Well if you weren't so far away from me I would totally be begging for a kinder doe... :D

Hope you get a break from the heat! 58 is a perfect temp, I think.

We had a beautiful weekend! I did mostly nothing, lol. Except - I mowed my pasture and the pasture I 'borrow' next door to me. Propped my foot up - set the tractor on 'cruise' and knocked down grass for about 5 hours! Whoopie! Now I'll feel better about throwing out some rye grass seed if/when we get a weather forecast that looks favorable. I like to toss it when it's just about to rain - or even IN the rain. That usually keeps the chickens away from it and gives a much better chance for germination.

DH finally got the hot tub cleaned up and useable. Bred a doe or two. Eh...the usual.

Happy Monday, ya'll!

FrustratedEarthMother I was in a cast and then a boot for most of the spring and summer of 2015. What a hassle. I sympathise with you. My hip and knee on my other leg hurt as much as the ankle I had surgery on, lol.
