@Icertuche I do NOT know how you got through that. I'm trying really hard not to whine about it toooooo much, but when it takes over your life like this.... ugh. Thanks for reminding me that this too will pass. :hugs

Gracie, the dog who is practically perfect in every way has destroyed all but one or two of my baby cabbage and broccoli plants. Gonna have to put that gate back across the entry to my raised beds and re-plant. Hope I can find some broccolini plants... I grew that a couple years ago and it was fabulous! Maybe it's not too late to start some from seeds...

Got the pasture mowed - so I need to pick up some rye grass seeds. It really helps slow down the hay consumption - at least for the horses. The goats just eat everything they can get hold of, lol.

DH got the hot tub cleaned, water treated and back in service Saturday. Ah, bliss! Then the weather got warm again...ugh.

Still need to pick up some more round bales. Isn't it always something that keeps the 'to do' list from getting finished. In my case it's usually a LOT of somethings, lol.

Beginning to wonder if Mrs. Piggy "took" the first time the boars were out and with her. She's huge in the belly, but not seeing a lot of udder development. It would be nice if she'd go ahead and have them next week instead of waiting another month or so when it might actually be cooler.

Well, at least if she didn't take, your winters are not bad. Let's face it, usually just Fall to most areas. :hide:idunno BUT the bigger issue is the wait, when you thought it was almost over. Yep, been there.

Looks like all my does are bred and will begin kidding in early winter. Thanks! That almost guarantees a bad winter. Like leaving hay in the trailer uncovered. This is just going to be "one of those" years. I've accepted that and will deal with it as it comes to pass. LOL, no other options!

Ahhhhh the leg/foot/hip.........yes, the other half hurts as much because we have to compensate for the lack of strength, balance & use of the injured half. Sucks but is reality. Even tho it is hot there, the moist heat of the hot tub will be good to ease the problems with BOTH injury and "working for both" sides of your body. Surprised you haven't mentioned/noticed that your back aches also....yep those core muscles are off balance. Hit the tub & hug the hub!! :love

Gracie ? Really, she didn't know you wanted those plants!:hide She was helping you hoe!!!:hu

My back/hip DID ache, and stopped as soon as I got out of that boot! I wondered why they made a point of telling me it was non-returnable.

Looked a little closer at Miss Piggy today... I'm still on the fence about her being due next week, but her boobs do seem to be filling in a little bit. Squeezed one this afternoon, but didn't get anything outta there. One thing for certain is that she will do it on her schedule, not mine. I'm really looking forward babies!

I've never birthed pigs before. Read a horror story over on BYH... yikes. Just hoping this gal can handle it. This will be her second farrowing so she's got twice as much experience as I do. :fl

What happened there is so rare. The chances of it happening to you are slim to none. Plus how many kids have been born on your farm? Those people were new to farming if I remember correctly.... I think you've got enough kidding experience that'll help when her time comes!

Thanks, NH, I hope so. Lord knows I've been elbow deep in goats and shoulder deep in horses so I hope I can handle it if she has an issue. If I'm here and can recognize a problem I sure don't mind jumping in. BUT - I'll still be glad when it's all over with! Poor gal looks like she's got about 47 little ones in there, lol.

Squeezing pig boobs! So funny, you right. You don't hear that everyday. I wish I had a couple of pigs. I have a nice place that wouldn't take much to get ready for pigs. A good high and tight fence but would have to enclose about 12 feet and put in a gate. My son and I keep talking about it and DH is "Yeah, that would be good", but we just haven't done it.

Speaking of hot tubs, boy that sounds great. Nothing like a good soaking in hot water.

I have too many pigs (yup, still). Hoping to breed one, maybe two of them next year. Depends on the piglet market and the personality of one of the pigs. She does not want to be touched and if she doesn't get used to it I won't breed her. Our pigs are big pigs!

So do pigs get offended when you squeeze their boobs?cause it seems like they might lol!
