Just ask the person at the disability-gittin'-place if he/she would like to be on the freeway alongside of your husband when he is driving. And congrats on the storm, we're slated to get some of that too. But I have sand and you have goop.

X a million! Heck I won't even ride with him - that oughta say something! Thankfully, he has the perfect car for blind driving. It absolutely won't run into the back of anything, you can set the cruise to match the car in front of you - so if it slows down you slow down - if it speeds up you speed up. It has another setting so that you don't run over any pedestrians. It's really pretty cool..... but it won't do nuttin for ya if you ignore all the safety bells and whistles - like he did when he scraped that car at the airport. Geeze!

One week checkup today for the eye. Doc says there's nothing "major" wrong that he can see. He 'thinks' the hazy vision may be from swelling in the eye. He gave us some new eye drops - expensive ones - but who the heck cares? All I care about is that they work. If they don't work the next step is to see a cornea specialist. Yay - won't THAT be fun?

Went to the store today and it was a crazy madhouse. Say the word "storm" and the stores fill up with people and empty out of supplies. Geeze people - it's not even a hurricane! But, I do understand. Nobody wants to be caught unprepared - but don't wait until the last minute! I only went because I needed wine lol! And, dishwasher tablets... gotta be able to clean those wine glasses.

I don't even know what "Harvey" is doing out in the Gulf. I don't think it's even a Tropical Storm yet -but "they" say it might make a Cat 1 Hurricane. Ugh. The only thing I really need to do is get a bit more gas for the generator. I think I have about 25 gallons, but I have a couple empty cans so I'll fill 'em. I got feed yesterday so I'm not worried about that. Just gotta figure out what to do with goats when we get a foot (or more) of rain! The buck's shelter is a hoop house that is NOT going to stand up to any wind....and one of the tarps blew off a couple weeks ago so it's only half covered right now anyway. Probably turn all the does out in the pasture where the big barn is and let the bucks into the smaller barn. Chickens and pigs are on their own.

I'm gonna pick up some ice for the ice chests. My generator will pull the freezer, but it doesn't pull the fridge. Go figger.

Too tired to worry about it right now - so what will happen will happen.

I sure hope -- LIKE YOU 2 DO!!! -- that the eye drops work magic. It has got to be stressful for you both.

Rain -- yes -- weatherman HERE is saying Harvey will most likely come on land about Corpus Christie & entire coast will be subject to heavy flooding from Gulf & the 10-20" :epof rain coming along with the wind. What you needed to buy were oars for a boat! Hope you have a couple bales of hay because we know goats don't do rain! :hide

I will be at the feed store this morning...ugh...I should be 'ashamed' for not having it already. I do have a round bale left - but it's outside and I'd be willing to bet that the goats aren't gonna leave the barn during this. So, I'll go pick up some square bales today. Probably take off tomorrow to do some last minute things. I'll be filling up a bunch of empty 30 gallon mineral tubs with water in hopes I can prevent the goats from drinking puddle water. I mean, it's full of nastiness, but they are lazy and won't walk through the mud to the big trough for a drink. I'm gonna set a couple of the tubs in the run-off area from the barn so it'll be right there for them.

Not much else to do. I don't worry about food - the pantry is stocked. I've got a bank of batteries in the garage that will run several appliances without even having to run the generator. I WILL have to use the generator to charge the batteries, but that's still much better than trying to run a generator around the clock. Heck - I'm still of the hope/belief that since we aren't in the direct path that we may not lose power anyway. :fl If we do - we deal with it.

Hope you don't get hit too hard! And that the eye drops help your husband. Sigh. You guys need a break.

Every single snowstorm that's forecast people flock to the stores. I was caught doing my regular grocery shopping once and had to ask the cashier what the heck was going on. She said big storm coming.... Uhhh big storms come all the time! Mostly folks from the bigger towns, we've got it covered out here in the country!

Looks like our 'little storm' has grown up. It's predicted to be a Category 3 at landfall.... yay. I may need more wine, lol!

Oh jeez, FEM… Fingers crossed it won't be too bad and you won't lose power. Get some more wine anyway. Emergency or no, that is an essential :hugs
