It's a prius, lol!

I'm still kicking around the whole idea. DH gets paid mileage every time he goes to any one of his offices other than his 'home' office. With a car that gets that much mileage - it's almost all profit.

Even paying $1300 for repairs would only be about two payments on a new one...

I'm getting cold feet, lol.

The problem is that everytime I wanna haul something I have to put a trailer behind my small suv...it's kind of a pain. My car is a hybrid too and it has a small towing capacity - like only 1500 lbs. So, I still need a truck... ugh.

You need to repo. Pay to get the car fixed, then put the truck in the shop. It'll be MUCH cheaper in the long run. In THIS economy, no way I'd go that far into debt sis. I'm just saying ;)

ARGH! Decisions, decisions. I would totally back away from the new (actually it's a used truck I'm lookig at) truck issue except for the fact that I neeeeeeed a truck. Everytime I buy a bale of hay I have to hook up a trailer. Need a 2 x 4 - hook up a trailer.... In fact, last fall I paid to have hay delivered - and that's NOT cool!

And it makes more sense to buy summpin while DH and I are still in our good 'earning' years. I'd rather get one now than after retirement when income is more limited.

Still not sure though... I've had zero car payments for over a year now and I like it!

No payments is a great thing indeed! How long would it take you to save for one?

Wellll,,,, I could pay cash for the truck now. (I've been saving all those car payments I didn't have to make, lol!) But, with the offer of less than 2% interest it doesn't make sense to pull my money out when it's making more than that.

So, in this instance it makes more sense to finance. I need to call the CPA and see if he has other ideas. I'm pretty sure we would designate this a farm truck which would lower the cost of registration and such.

But, right now they're not willing to get where I want on the price - so it may all be a moot point anyway. :somad

We had BIG ol' thunder-boomers last night. Power went out, windows rattled, wind blew and the rain fell. There's water everywhere and we needed it. The garden appreciated every single drop. Green things are popping up all over! I laugh every time I go out there cuz there's more okra coming through every single day. Problem is - I didn't plant any okra! It's all volunteering from last year and it's everywhere. Some of it is coming up in a row where I planted pole beans. I wonder if the okra will mind holding up some beans? :idunno I guess I'll find out eventually.

We had peas with dinner tonight. Peas from the garden - yummmmy! Wonder whats for dessert???

At first I read that as the windows blew out and the wind rattled!

We're supposed to get the rain today. We need it.

Make sure you account for "finance charges" as well sis. They almost always throw in a fee for doing the paperwork. It might nullify the savings of paying out your loan, rather than just dropping cash. Cash, might get you a lower price as well. A wad of money almost always gets them drooling and ready to sweeten the deal. Make an offer of $250 less for taking cash and see if they bite. In this economy, everyone loves cash!!

The beans should grow up the okra, but I'm wondering if the okra will grow tall enough in time to support them. I swear pole beans grow 6 inches a day!!!

Hope ya had a great day sis!!! :)

Right now we are at an impasse on the truck issue. Salesman called today and told me that if I came in and we coud negotiate 'face to face' he might be able to get another $500 off the truck. Nope ... I told him I wasn't coming in to be held hostage until he got closer to my price, lol.

The plan now is to go ahead and get DH's car fixed and not worry about no stinkin' truck. Now, you know as soon as I drop that $1300 on DHs car, the salesman will prolly call with a deal on the truck that I can't pass up - grrrrr. Not gonna worry about it. If it's meant to be - it will be.

DH and I sat out on the back porch this evening just watching the dogs tussle and conversating. The weather is beautiful and is supposed to stay that way for a couple more days at least. The peas in the garden are still producing like crazy. Usually its so hot by this time of year that they'd have burned up by now.

It's been a good week and DH and I are counting our blessings. Life is good...the pantry is full...the garden is growing and all of our family is safe and well today. What more can ya ask for?

Salesmen are so stupid :/ If you "might" be able to get it down $500 more, then why not just quit beating around the dang bush and drop it already. Face to face....they want to get you aggravated and ready to get gone so they can do what they want with the paperwork and get your signature before you realize...idiots :rant Good for you for telling him to buzz off!!!
