All I can say is that it's H.O.T! How did this happen????

I've been out in it all day. About all I can do is an hour at a time then back in to cool down and hydrate. I'm not acclimated to it yet this year.

Heat index went up even higher after I took this pic...

I just came in from FINALLY finishing the chicken tractor and loading it up with poop filled CCX. DH was a huge help, he is already showered, and asleep in his recliner. LOL I wore his a$$ out. I updated my CCX thread, drank ice water and cooled off. Time to go back out and do evening chores, plus clean the chicken off my porch.

I plant my garden and think about my Daddy. He instilled the love of growing vegetables in me. I often wish he was alive now, he would ADORE a forum where he could talk to other gardeners. He was organic before organic became mainstream. Nobody "got" him, nobody understood his passion for growing a garden. I did, I do and I ADORE having a forum of friends that "get" me. Thanks everybody!

@baymule - I bet your daddy and my grandma would've had lots to talk about and they woulda "got" each other for sure. She lived in downtown Baytown and had a big ol' garden in her front yard...people thought she was a bit "touched." But, I never forgot how fun it was to get out there and pick food right in the yard....she too was organic before organic became cool.

I feel about like your DH, Bay... I am one whopped puppy today. I've shoveled barn gold, filled planting tubs, cleaned out raised beds and kilt a snake! All between feeding and watering and making popcorn for lunch, lol.

Ya'll remember that egg thief I had in my barn? He's not gonna steal any more eggs!

Had my big dental appointment today. They told me I'd be in the chair for two hours...ugh. But, my dentist is so amazingly awesome that he had me finished in 49 minutes!! Got the implant procedure started. They cut holes in my gums, drilled into my jawbone and inserted two titanium rods. Yay? Actually, it is kinda 'yay' that it's behind me now. I was dreading it soooo much and literally scared to death. But, it really wasn't such a horrible thing...not pleasant by any means...but no pain during the procedure. The only uncomfortable part was when he was literally using a torque wrench to tighten the screws into my jawbone. But, it was just pressure more than real pain.

I'm still filling tubs with barn gold and planting in them as fast as I can. Put some herbs in today. I've got sweet basil, thai basil, oregano, lemon thyme. I saw some baby yellow squash starting on a couple plants I started behind the barn. Still cleaning out the raised beds too... So much to do - never enough time.
