Going to DS's tonight for the Stupid Bowl. I like football - but I like my team (when they win). My team certainly did not get anywhere near winning anything this year. Oh well... So tonight - I'm going for the food, lol. Son is smoking a Jalapeno/Cream Cheese stuffed pork loin. Yum! I'm making a cheesy broccoli/cauliflower rice casserole. I also made sausage balls and am about to make some Lil Smokie pigs in a blanket. Not so low carb but they're little, lol!

Babies are growing! Still trying to decide who goes and who stays. So far, I've picked out 4 babies that will definitely go. They all happen to be male, lol.

Lots of people want brush clearers too! But that’d be great if they find jobs as herd sires🤞I wish there were more kikos and crosses up here, more people should be breeding more parasite resistant goats.

Too much fun with baby goats today. We added a couple of old wooden benches to their play area. They've been playing on it all day. So much fun to just sit and watch.

I've had a predator problem for a couple of days now. I found an injured hen one morning and the next morning my last Lavendar Orpington hen was missing. Today I found the injured hen had been finished off and had been partially eaten. Grrrrr - I hate that! I gave Karma and Raine (the English Shepherds) access to the front barnyard where the chickens mostly stay. Heard barking and barking and more barking so I grabbed a flashlight and went exploring. They had a HUGE possum cornered so I kept the spotlight on it and called DH to bring out a varmint gun. That possum won't be giving us any more problems. I'm a little concerned that he might not be the culprit though. We've had problems with bobcats for a few years but generally they go elsewhere. However, the Orp hen that I lost was a big ol' gal and I'm not sure that possum, even big as he was, could have carried her off. :hu

I should have operation Pig Reduction kicking into high gear in a few days. Four of the six remaining pigs will be moving soon. I called the guy who buys pigs from me every year and told him that pigs are on sale this week, lol. He's taking three of them and one will go in my freezer. That'll leave two that I'd like to see grow a little bit more. That'll still help reduce the feed bill quite a bit. Yay!

DIL tested positive for Covid yesterday morning. We were at their house for the Superbowl the night before...:he It's been 48 hours and so far all is well.

it has been going around and spreading easily so... :/ hope all is ok. i won't mention who exactly but they came over a day after going to a big hockey game and i was thinking to myself why did they have to visit that day of all days? well sure enough a few days later they were sick and it took them a week to get over it, but no complications.
