i'm not experienced with cold damage and cabbage, but don't be too surprised if it takes a few days for damage to show up. i say this because i had some pole lima beans growing on my fence and they got some cold a bit below freezing and they looked ok the next day, but a few days later they didn't look so good after all. i hope better for you. go cabbage! i love cabbage. :)

Rain coming....ugh! Scattered light showers possible starting today. Heavy rain tomorrow. OH yay, just what we need. Plans for the day are to unload the truck load of feed before it gets too wet for me to back up close to the feed trailer. I'm going to go ahead and rake out the kidding stalls in the red barn. Need to take some shavings out there but probably won't spread 'em for a few more days. I'll need to move some does in a few days too.

I've been identifying and leg banding all the male quail that I can. Totally sure I don't have them all identified yet. But butcher day is coming up soon - maybe this weekend. Need to move the extra males out. I'd like to get breeding groups set up. Generally, that means 1 male to 3-5 females. If there are too many males in a pen there are constant fights for dominance. Hard to believe these little birds, a pound or less, can inflict as much damage on each other as they do.

Picked up some seed starting soil while at WallyWorld yesterday. It's time to start thinking about it! Woo Hoo!

I was looking up moss in the garden bed,, and what do I "need" to do if anything about it, I am also thinking of setting up a drip system, but I dont know how, it is like me trying to put the square peg in a round hole- not good,

moss is one of those indicator species. it can mean that your soil is compacted and may have more clay in it than prime garden soil. i'm fine with moss growing wherever it wants. it's not a weed and i like the look of it and also like playing with various types to make patterns.

alas some animals also enjoy taking bits of it so it can be a challenge to keep a nice smooth area.

Yep, but, it can get out of control, in our very wet area
