they are all adults, STOP giving them any money! if the name calling contiunes, tell the 18 year old, this is my house, respect me or get out. simple as that.
Amen!

It sounds as though they are in need of a few "life lessons" and reality checks. You must be a Saint, because I would have tossed them out on their ears long ago. My daughter was on the receiving end of these very lessons, a few years ago. It turned out well. It's a tough thing for a parent to do, but sometimes it needs to be done. I wish you the best, and will keep you in my prayers.

Great advice everyone!! Children (even adult children) will adjust to your new demands for respect etc. I think all children really crave a mommy with a back bone. :)

Good luck to you in your new venture, and welcome to sufficientself!!

By the way, what kind of vending machines are they? Just curious. :pop

You sound to me like a very industrious, strong businesswoman, quite successful despite the lack of support (in fact, the jeers, it sounds like) from your family.

As folks here have said, you really have to do your ventures for your OWN satisfaction. You have to do what you know is right for you.

My family, especially DH, has, I suspect, kind of resented my SS ways in the past when he was earning a paycheck and we had plenty of money. Now that we're seriously in financial straits, they have come around to seeing things my way. Even DH wastes less than he used to. They've been watching me long enough to know how to cut back on things.

The point is, you have a good head on your shoulders. It's really hard not to get discouraged when you're being criticized constantly, but hang in there. :hugs

They would definately be on their own. I put up with that from my ex-husband for long enough. Hence, the ex part of it. He never supported any of my side "business" of selling fish foods, supplies and critters. It was something that I loved to do, and when I was laid off from work, it really came in handy, especially since he was always getting fired from various jobs. He only supported my hobbies when they brought money in on these times of absolute need. Now, the new boyfriend, he really wasn't supportive, and gave me a funny look and made insulting comments when I said anything about making or selling anything. I finally called him out on it, and told him to stop being so unsupportive. The comments stopped, and once my soaps finally started coming out as soap instead of messed up goop, and once I started selling fish foods again, he stopped with his weird looks. Now, he even tells everyone else that I make and sell soaps and such, instead of being "embarassed" that I do this.
Granted, the new boyfriend and his brother make good money, and have no idea how to budget. They live paycheck to paycheck and struggle more than I did when I made less than 1/8 of what they do. I'm trying to instill some of the SS and side sales on them.
Anyways, I would DEFINATELY be dropping the family from your "nice list".

1-800 vending "the video" just blew me away... I can DO this. I have made $$$$$ before.... (no help from family( I CAN do it AGAIN) .... 10 years and NOT ONE COMPLAINT From the BBB or the FTC (but wait there is more!) 7 years warrenty...

http://www.1800vending.com

So, I can have income for my self in my "golden" years.

Yes..... this does sound like the "little red hen" story..

Who will help me plant the wheat?

NOT ME!

Who will help me water and harvest the wheat?

NOT ME!

Who will help me grind the meal?

NOT ME!

Who will help me bake the bread?

NOT ME!

But who will help me eat the bread?

ALL OF US COUNT US IN!!!!

(hold on to your chair...) My husband who complains and never helps unless he sees the money A-C-T-U-A-L-L-Y is deciding to "name the vending company" with HIS INITALS LOL! Not my company he won't!!!!

Keep the encouragment coming... I am glad for this support and feel like I can make it alone on this company!!! Thanks for wishing me well. I NEED ALL THE ENCOURAGMENT I can get!!!
