On Sunday Big G decided we were going to do a job together. It never works out well. He says I'd be fired for taking too long and I tell him I'd quit before I got fired because he's too much of an a$$ who thinks everyone should have ESP. But that day I was determined to keep my mouth shut and anticipate his every move. If he glanced towards the tools, I grabbed as much as I could handle and run towards him with a twinkle in my eye.
After all, we were finally building my goat barn awning!
A few hours into the job, the skies darkened and a sprinkle came down. Moments later a full on rain storm was over us. We herded the goats back into their barn (we had locked them out so we could keep the gate open) and hunkered down with them to wait it out, hoping it was just a minute storm. I thought little g had already run inside the house, but as I glanced at the truck I saw this figure bobbing around, measuring tape sticking out as far as it could go. Guess he decided he didn't want to help us anymore and just wanted to measure everything.
We decided to head inside since it appeared the rain was not going to stop. I was glad it was raining so Big G couldn't see the tears running down my face. I was certain this was it, my special project wasn't going to get done.
As I stared outside, tissue in hand, I saw the sun peaking out and the pouring changed to a light rain. I ran outside..
Me: Big G, let's go!
Big G: It's raining!
Me: Nope, it's not! See!!! Look at me! *twirls around in the rain*
Big G: Uhhhhh.....OK
He followed me outside and we continued the project. He didn't seem to mind since I happily stood out in the open, gentle mist coming down, shirt getting wetter by the second.
My awning is built and I couldn't be happier.
What's even better is he has plans to build another one on the back side of the barn....but it's not supposed to rain anytime soon so now I'll have to improvise
