Ahhh to be 30 again!!! It wasn't that long ago, but it seems like a life time of things have happened since then!! But that's a WHOLE 'nother story!!!

I'll be 47 in NOV. and a week b4 my BD, my youngest dd turns 8. WOW, looking at it in writing it looks ALOT worse than it seems!!

Gosh, I feel old now. I realize you are one year older than my daughter who has your same (real) name.

My friend explained to me that birthdays are for people to appreciate you exist. I'm still not sure I understand the gifts part. I mean, it makes more sense to give presents to others, on your birthday, to thank them for putting up with you for another year.

In any case, celebrating another year of existence makes sense for children, since it's only recent that infant mortality rates are so low. In some cultures, children weren't considered until they made it a year and so they celebrated the child's birth only after they were likely to make it through childhood.

We already have an annual celebration to look back on the year and see what we've done, with New Year, so I'm not sure I quite understand a need to do it a second time.

But all autistic pondering aside, happy birthday. *laughs*

Hee hee hee... you guys are too much.

We look at it as a celebration we made it this far. We've requested no gifts and specified that if someone wants to "get" a gift for one of us they can simply donate to the charity of their choice.

That's why I'm throwing the party and no one is expected to bring anything....I know it's well warranted ;)

Summer of '69 is now on....who's joining me on the dance floor?

Yes, I am listening to the party song mix at work so I can perfect it!

Why do you drink?

Hank, why do you roll smokes?

Why must you live out the songs that you wrote?

Sing it with me!
