Heading up to the only grocery open for cat food.

I collected some interesting shelf fungi on hikes this year and will spray them with polyurethane before displaying. Nice outside project.

Which reminds me- I was going to hike a park with my dog today before going to TG dinner, but remembered about that Georgia hiker that was murdered when she hiked on New Years 08. Consequently, I don't hike on holidays when all the crazies are wandering around. :/

So will skip straight to TG dinner. I'm bringing squash, rutabaga and coleslaw.

Happy Thanksgiving!

HC---now you have to move to NC....LOL
that is the next logical step....:p

NC is great. I do not miss the snow in PA. Oh man life was rough in that snow and biting cold winds! Never alot of sun either....PA sure has the cloud cover!

You best be shutting down your pool NOW.....in PA you ain't got long before the snows fly.

In NC I have more time and my pool never hardly freezes or anything. My winter shut down is so easy compared to PA.

come one down!!! anytime!!!! You'd love the sun and warmer winters definitely!

FC- you were in Scranton - I am in York County 30 miles from the Mason Dixon line. Another world entirely. We dont' get much snow here, compared with NJ and CT; and I never lived anyplace with so many sunny days. We do get a hard winter freeze at some point but it comes later and ends sooner than other places I have lived. I have a long growing season which I fail to take advantage of.

I just noticed - I am not cleaning my house AT ALL.

NC does seem like the next logical step. Need a partner in that farm?

HA HA I am actually starting to shut down the farm biz...LOL
you are about 15 years too late....LOL

but hey, property is way cheaper down here big time...but of course selling what you have is the problem. Buying is cheap, selling is near impossible......well, heck ya can't win can ya!!

OH you are a southerner practically already. Yea scranton was cold definitely....you are way down -------lucky you without the snow. Snow was a pain big time.

problem with a long growing season, if you have no time to plant it ain't worth a hill of beans is it? LOL

don't worry, you will be able to get some seeds in the ground next spring.......you just pick the few absolute favorite items you love to eat, and plant just about 3-4 of them. that way you get fresh, keep the garden super small to be able to handle it and you are starting your own farm------------and if you can't get ground tilled up cause no time, you plant a small container garden near the porch, to be able to water and pick tomatoes at your backdoor.....:D

Buying requires either credit or money.

I have neither. Best to try to make it work here for now.

I am up for a visit to NC, though.

If you ever want to come to NC---you tell me. I can definitely entertain visitors!!! I might put you to work though, but we would have fun also...LOL

yea I hear you.

We were thinking of building a small house over on our 30 acres down the road...but we can't. We can't sell this home, building is way too expensive, I can't swing it.....a dream that won't happen but I am cool with it. Hey, a house is a house, as long as I smile in "any" home all is cool for me.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Started my morning off around 5am with a quite cup of coffee and local news. Not much on on TDay morning.

Made a couple quiche for breakfast. Made cranberry sauce to take with and some to store.

We are off to the in laws for dinner. Not sure thats where I want to spend my day but for the good of my children I conceded. I may have to drug myself in order to keep my mouth shut. Wish me luck!!!

We will be making the 1 hour drive north tomorrow to visit my Mom and whomever is at her house. That's usually a bit crazy as well.

Then Saturday I plan to sleep. Oh wait thats when we decorate for Christmas. Hummmm???

I vote for sleeping!!

Have a great day!!!!!!
