We didn't light a fire in the woodburner until November. I do believe we used the propane furnace at night a few times in October last year. But, we didn't need a fire in the stove during the day until November.

Way earlier this year with the burning wood.

We have a wall mounted propane heater that we run off a 100 pound tank as back up to the woodburner, or for when we just need to take the chill/dampness out of the house so we're not burning as much wood.

We're clearly not making it out of the 30s (F) today, here, and it is rather windy. From the east, which is unusual and the horses haven't much windbreak from it.

Stupid weather.

Am I ever looking forward to going up on the hill out back and working on fences when DH gets home. Not! But the horses really need the grass so I guess I'd better dig out my winter hat and work gloves, sigh.

Pat your highs today are in the 30s NOW

wow where are you in Canada?

Do you have shorter hot seasons and longer winter types

I remember Morel saying it was snowing like one Sept or something and I freaked..LOL...too cold for me. Honestly the warmer weather suits my body great. I can't handle cold anymore...don't like it or want too..LOL

The "banana belt", believe it or not :D

But, lest you think we're all nuts up here, let me quickly point out this is unusually cold weather for this time of year. Daily highs should be around 12 C, what's that, maybe the 50s F? (I suck at conversions)

Morelcabin is further north than me; but even here, and I really am in one of the warm parts of the country, we can get little teensy passing snow showers from late September on, although it is unusual to get any snow laying on the ground for more than an hour before maybe mid-October. By Halloween we should have had our first "technical" snow, the kind where you can go out in the morning and some of it is still there.

Manitoba and Saskatchewan got 6" of snow earlier this week. And of course up north, it is already *cold* :p

You know you can google the conversions, right Pat? You can stick your number in to someone's calculator and *poof* you look like a wizard mathematician! ;)

WELL----I can't believe it but they said a dusting of snow tomorrow night for our mountains...which is about 1-1/2 hr. drive from my house.

SNOW...now in NC in the mts. That is not normal.

News just said NC will be getting a very bitter winter this season. They predict alot harsh weather. (Hope they are wrong...wait, they never get anything right on the news anyway :fl )

I am not in the mood. I want warm still. I just am not in the "batten down the hatches and get ready for winter mood"

See Pat you are about 20 deg. cooler than normal also....hmm...everyone is getting strange weather. But into the 70s by the end of next week---but for how long? ugh

oh well...weather happens right.
