Who would you donate to, helping Japan..? I know in these hard times many can only afford to help their own. You hear of so much fraud and wasted money with some of the releif organizations.
Which has the best record for spending money wheres it really needed..? The Red Cross, Salvation Army, Unicef...? I'd like to make a donation, but want it to go where it will do the most good.

I personally plan on donating to Samaritan's Purse. They are already responding to the tragedy handing out necessary items and collecting items. They are run by the Graham family and based in North Carolina. Here is a link www.samaritanspurse.org They are the ones who do Operation Christmas Child if you are familiar with it. They are doing great work all over the world.

Do they have a good history of donated money going to victims?

I don't give to charities because I don't want to line pockets of those in charge. I give items, though.

As far as I can tell Samaritan's Purse gives 100% and are completely open about their business. I have given to the Red Cross before as well, but I know they do have a large percentage going into administrative fees, and a smaller percent actually makes it to the distribution of goods and services end. I prefer knowing ALL that I give, goes for it's intended purpose when it leaves my hand, but I don't knock those that do take out for administrative fees, I mean it takes money to run a thing like that, right? :hu I guess I'd just rather stick with those who pay their own way and know by going through them I am giving MORE to the need directly.

Oh I don't mind SOME fees. Administration almost has to exist. I mind excessive.
