Ugh. Had all these great plans to get stuff done during our time off from school. We did get some things done but then just as I started to kick into high gear to make the most of the last few days of vacation I got hit with a nasty stomach bug. I felt okay in the morning but I was cranky. Little things were bugging me. I didn't think much of it. Got home from church and had some leftovers from dinner the night before. Still felt fine. I was thirsty so I poured myself a little of some rootbeer my mother had brought over from New Year's Eve (she had my son overnight and they had some treats.) That did not sit well and the next thing I knew I was in extreme pain and running for the bathroom. After getting sick a half dozen times I fell into bed with a hot water bottle and fell asleep. Half an hour later I was okay. I figured it was just something I ate and that the bubbles in the root beer were too much.
5:00 this morning I woke up to hear DH throwing up in the bathroom. It was his first day back to school after break. You pretty much need a death certificate to be out the day after a break so he dragged himself into school, where he found out there was a 90 minute delay because of icy roads. He never got his phone call because it goes out through the email system somehow and the email system was down. He felt so lousy he never thought to turn on the TV to see the delay announced there. After getting sick there he went up to the office and told them he'd left plans on his desk for a sub and he was headed home. So now I'm trying to get some stuff done around him without making too much noise. My son and I don't go back to school until Wednesday so I've got today and tomorrow to do everything I hadn't finished. Blech. I just hope my son doesn't get this too. That will be the worst.
Oh, and I had the strangest dream this morning. I looked out in my backyard and it was full of deer and wild dogs. Yup, wild dogs, like dingos or something. They were the same color as the deer and were trying to blend in and not be noticed. Someone had let my chickens and ducks out and I was furious! I went out to scare of the dogs and I realized everyone was getting along just fine.
