I'd like to thank you for sending the creepy jeepies over to my house. little g's now sick and is on his 2nd day at home. He had a dentist appt this morning, but I rescheduled it for April. He has a dentist-a-phobia so I was not going to make him go when he doesn't feel good.

I hope you all get some rest - we haven't had much around here either and nwo that tomorrow's weather is calling for a shmorgasborg of stuff I'm sure we'll be stuck inside!

Have a great day!

Hmmmm, I only had one kid out sick and one in ISS (in school suspension). So it was a pretty productive day.
Sorry about the creepy whatevers! DS fought it off fast here. Hope it's the same for Little G. DS loves going to the dentist. He gets a balloon, a sticker and a token for a little vending machine that spitsout junky toys in those little clear plastic egg thingies. Plus a new toothbrush? Heaven!!
Day3 on the treadmill. Sigh. I want spring.

Yay! Good for you. I think the thought that spring may actually come helps too. I haven't gotten back to it with company coming tomorrow. And work. But I will!

Having a slow start today. We had 3 couples over to celebrate DH's birthday last night. We ate ham and fixin's, drank beer and wine and chatted away about maple sugaring, canning and preserving, cheese making, kitchen cabinet paint colors and the crack in our ceiling for hours. I was a good girl and donned my apron after the last guest left and cleaned the kitchen back up. When I got up this morning DH had put the rest of the chairs away and removed the leaves from the table and my kitchen looked normal again. Phew!! I love having people over and I love having a smaller house, but not at the same time!!
The maple out front is dripping away and I believe we are headed to the church later to tap two trees at the back of the parking lot later today. We need to get chicken food, rabbit food and I can't remember what else and I am going to the fabric store for something to use under the other parts of the current apron because I am not satisfied. We are also looking for a little throw rug for DS's room. He spent hours cleaning on his own yesterday, by choice, and it actually looks much better! He's been asking for a rug since we took out the wall-to-wall. I think he's earned it.

The lots of people in a smaller house has always bugged me too. :/

We have 1000 on the main floor with an open bungalow floor plan. Our dining room is a 10x14 room full of doorways to other parts of the house. All it contains is a buffet and an antique dining table that has drop down leaves and can be made quite small or pulled out with 5 leaves it will fill the room.

When we have a crowd for dinner like Thanksgiving the whole house is so PACKED with people you can't move!! We still have a good time, but the first thing I do after the meal is break down the table and close it up as small as possible, then push it to the wall.

One of my great wishes if we EVER get to build a home is to have one room (and it can be shut up most of the time) to have big gatherings in. I would even settle for a detached garage or shed with a wood stove in it!

Our whole house is just about 1100 sq feet. No dining room at all. I really prefer to have people over when we can use the deck! I have my great grandmother's dining table in the kitchen. It's round 99% of the time but with three leaves it is a huge oval. We can't even use the third leaf in this house! To have all those people we have to pull it out from the wall, and put people in their places. Once you're in, you're not getting out till we let you out!

Glad to hear the dinner went well!

Got any leftovers? I'm refusing to cook until I feel better.....

Just kidding! :)

We have a lot of left over ham! I didn't think we would but there's enough for dinner and I used some in omelets this morning. Yum!
A little while ago I got a call from a friend who had two extra tickets to see the Canadian Tenors at UCONN's Jorgenson Auditorium tonight. I started to tell her no, I couldn't go because DH's band is playing at the Winter Bluesfest in town and she said why don't you bring DS? So we're going out! Yay!! We'll be exhausted tomorrow and he's still got a lot of writing to do for his book report but it will be worth it. He's a perfect kid to bring to things like this. He always has been. He'll get totally into the music.
