Gah! I'm getting NOTHING done!!!
Well, partially true. I have laundry drying. I roasted a chicken for DH to eat while we're gone. He's a little put out that tonight is our anniversary and I won't be here. We'll celebrate when we get back.
Still can't find the sweatshirt I was looking for but found another one instead. Back to it!

Well, my son had a great time at camp. I did too for the first day and a half. Unfortunately I came down with a sore throat and fever Wednesday at dinner time. I woke up feverish in the middle of the night. Tylenol brought it down enough that I got back to sleep. Thursday I managed to go on a short hike with the group but by mid morning was feverish again and freezing. While everyone went off to archery I went to bed under three blankets and cried. While in college I worked at summer camp for two years teaching archery and it was one thing I was really looking forward to doing with my son. Didn't work out. I was able to get up and go to lunch but didn't eat much. After the 2:00 Eucharist service I had to lie down again while the kids played games until it was time to head home. Had to drive 2 and a quarter hours in driving rain at times to get home. I spent most of today on the couch dozing and watching Twister. The fever is pretty much gone finally. I've never had anything hit me that fast. I don't usually get sore throats anymore. I had my tonsils out just over 5 years ago. This was just weird. When I called my mom to let her know we were home and told her I was sick she said I should get tested for H1N1. Lovely!
If nothing else I did see that my son will be ready to go to camp on his own next year.

H23 - sorry you're not feeling well. :hugs I bet you're glad to be back in your own bed.

Wow, your son is growing up - camp without mom or dad is a big step! :clap

Thanks. I'm mostly better today. We're off to the parade with my parents in a bit. My husband and his students will be "marching" with their hovercraft. If it runs.... He's been up since 6 am tweaking things. Our neighbors just love us!

Our parade is rather unique and has made national news. Anyone can march.

Bought myself an early birthday present. A new sewing machine! I've been fighting with my old one for a few years now and I realized that I've come to dislike sewing because it is so tempermental. For not much more than I would have spent to have my old one cleaned and repaired (it kind of got dropped) I was able to get a new one. I didn't get the cheapest model but still got an affordable one. I'm not ready for a lot of bells and whistles..... yet! If I have some successes this summer though I may be looking to upgrade sooner than I thought!
Updated link to the Boombox Parade site-with pictures from this year. If you're interested there are a few shots of my husband and his students with the hovercraft they built this year. They flew it up the street. They just tether it on the corners so they can control it better and it gets a lot of notice.

Thanks!! Instead of staying home and playing with it we went to Old Sturbridge Village with my mother. It was a nice cool dry day. It wasn't very busy at all. We had a great, relaxing time. We came home and went to feed our friends' cats and I got to pick some of the sage they have taking over their herb garden. After that we went to the local nursery to pick through their left over veggie six packs which were $1.25. I got some chili peppers and kohlrabi. I've got some space where things either rotted or the slugs ate them. Hopefully I'll actually harvest something at some point! Oh, I got some herbs at half price too.

Wow, H23, I am envious! Locally, not one store has any plants (veggies, fruits or herbs) that inexpensively! Good catch!

ETA: quit teasing me about going to OSV! :gig

Oh sorry. I was just going to upload the pictures too!
I swear, I'd move into the Freeman Farm building if they'd let me! We got a tour of the root cellar yesterday. I was in heaven!
