One thing that is constant and consistant, is that nearly everyone in the US has or has had some degree of Metabolic Damage.
Some people are able to arrest and heal that damage early on, before it affects everything.

My absolute all time fav researcher is Matt Stone.

Heavy reading, but if you do not come away changed, then something is wrong.
Its really a good idea to learn what he is compiling, even if it does not relate to you right now, because it sure is going to relate to the majority of your friends and family sooner rather then later.

We are talking about 2 different things Farmerchick. The science behind the weight loss and how you apply it are two different things. Ancel Keys, the man who changed the entire direction of nutrition 30 years ago was a lying sack of crap. Fact. The fact that following advice derived from his crap effects people differently is also fact. People like me and Bubblingbrooks got fat. Others get stomach disorders or cancer.

That people can lose weight and regain health by different methods is also fact, but it doesn't change the actual events that started the whole thing.

By getting to the bottom of the problem, a person can then make reasonable intelligent choices as to how to fix things. The issue is we are still be lied to about what causes our metabolic issues in the first place.

Many will still insist that fat people are liars or really bad at math, not the the advice they are given on weight loss and health has no actual basis in science.
yea I kinda blew past the "science" of it all in this thread lol

oh man, whatever is all I have to say at this point, cause I gotta bow out of it now I almost have no interest left in this conversation

which is no problem to me at all :p
:( Then why pretend to know what we are talking about?

the science of it all is fine
the way the science is reasearched etc is fine to a limit
the science of it all does not take into account ANY variables like individual physical bodies....we all work different physically.....

while the science does work for some...it will not work for others

so when you do a study and use people, will it work for all--
heck no

will it work for the masses in general, maybe, but iis the basic science a good place to start and then each person tweak to fit themselves, sure

what I am saying is all scientific studies for nutrition will not work on everyone

we throw out one individual case and think it applies to everyone---it doesn't

geez ya'll think you know, but you don't have a clue either cause every single person in this world is different.....everyone must find their own balance in everything in this life, not just foods

1) There are individual difference in body type and metabolism

2) We are not different species

eating a donut will effect 2 people way different

so being a species doesn't matter....it is what the species eats on a daily basis that effects their own person body

Oh boy! No one said its one size fits all. The only part that does, is STEP AWAY from modern foods.

no you don't have to totally step away from modern foods

again, being individuals physically, some can easily eat the "what we call crappier foods" on the shelf and live to long healthy lives

it is how much we eat, the combinations of foods we eat in a day, no exercise, tons of other factors included where we have problems---again, this is totally on individual levels

I lost 70 lbs eating modern foods
I still eat them every day

I am perfectly healthy hitting 50

My Mom is 82 and not on one pill. She is perfectly healthy eating modern foods every single day---my Dad is 81 not on any pills and eats modern foods every day

key is it works for her the way she eats
would it work for someone else, maybe not

I get sick and tired of everyone throwing the "eat this way or die" situation down everyone's throat on this board all the time.

eat healthier, sure
are we stupid not to know what healthier is...nope
do most overweight people lie about what they eat---yup (been there)

are there a millions people with exceptions to the above, yup
