On the e-mail itself, at the bottom, there is a place where you can edit your preferences. It takes me to the forum, and I can click to disable e-mails on this particular thread, or all e-mails. I have been clicking "all e-mails" to no avail.
After reading Cane's method of going to the top of the page and following the "alerts" button, I went ahead and did that too. We will see...

Well - after all the checking and unchecking in the profile, I've still gotten an email on each post. But I've done the email link like Lucky said....
So Lucky - did you get an email about this post?

I did! Can you imagine getting an e-mail for every time you respond? All the banter we do on TEG--good grief! Hopefully Nifty can figure out how to stop the notices.

Great discussion, a few quick items:

When you are subscribed, you only get one notice of a new post until you revisit the forum again. If you visit a lot (like I do) you might be more selective to the things you subscribe to. It really depends on how active you are and how active the threads are. Some SUPER active threads you may not want to subscribe to, but some that are not very active you may want to get notices of every time there is a post.

The system is setup to automatically subscribe you to threads in which you post. You can change that setting by:

  1. Click your username at the top right of the page
  2. Click on "Preferences" to the far left (or click here: http://www.remodelforums.com/account/preferences )
  3. Uncheck the option: "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply"
  4. Save your settings
It looks like this:

To unsubscribe from a specific thread you are already subscribed to, you can do that from within the individual thread. Click on "Unwatch Thread" from the top right of the thread:

You can also click "Watched Threads" at the top of the page to see a list of all watched threads. Select the checkbox next to those threads and at the bottom of the screen do "Disable email notifications"

If that doesn't work, reply here and we'll figure it out!
