August.....I feel your pain. We planted a new garden area...it looked to be " the perfect spot" Early morning shade, so I can get in there and work before the sun got too hot. Seemed to be a well drained spot, ( before we tilled the ground into a rice paddy) I planted 30 tomatoe plants...and I MIGHT have about 2 bushells of good tomatoes. :/ Blight.....flood....japanese beetles. Now, GRASSHOPPERS!! :barnie The grapes all got Birds Eye rot...the cucumbers are...well...they are NOT! The pepper plants....drowned...beets got woody before they got big enough to cann. :idunno Seems everyone is haveing a bad garden year. I was able to get a second planting of beets in...and will be planting fall peas. HOPEING they make it. However, it HAS been a great berry year. We just dont use too many berries. :/ Chin up....it will get better. Next year....bumper crops for all!! :celebrate
Oh, I hope your chickens recover for ya. Ours have all but quit laying. Im hatching out babies...going to replenish the flock for winter.
