If anyone is still having issues with getting the cold shock method to work, try baking your eggs. This works particularly well with fresh eggs, since the oven will dry them out a bit.

Put your desired amount of eggs in a cold oven.
Set oven to 325
Set timer for 30 minutes
Prepare a large bowl of ice water to dunk them in (before the timer goes off)
Peel and enjoy

Baked eggs are much creamier, and I much prefer them over boiled. Not to mention you can fit 8-10 dozen eggs in the oven at once, if you're preparing an insane amount for pickling or something.

Actually that appliances is my parent's gift to me when I celebrated my birthday last year. Because they know that I really love egg so they gave me an egg cooker microwave. But last week, my friends went to my house and they accidentally destroy my egg cooker. Until now, I still don't know what to do. How should I fix it? Thank you!

Baked whole eggs!!! I NEVER would have thought of that.

I've cooked scrambled eggs in the microwave but never would have thought to use the method for egg salad.

Oh the things I learn on here. :D
