If I'm up and about no issue.
Yeah, but you're weird, remember? ;)

I JOKE! I TEASE! Just kidding!

Actually, I don't burp them too awful much but they are definitely memorable! Not too bad though compared to some things I have eaten/burped!

If you freeze fish oil pills they digest a little further down the digestive tract and you can avoid "seal burps".
Also, if you take pills, there is nothing to signal the body to produce what is needed to digest it in time. So eat some saturated fat (animal sources are best for this, eggs, butter, cheese, whole milk, meats that aren't lean, etc.) with it to get the body ready for that capsule to break open.
I actually do eat a bit of cheese or fatty meat right before taking the CLO and the Vit D gels just to be sure.

Thanks for the info.

And to everyone, please do not assume i know ANYTHING, keep the tips/info coming!

Thank you,

Tom

Have you been talking to Freem?!? How'd you figure that out so fast LOL. In Freem's nutrition class, it seemed a lot of prefacing with "Except Abi". :love

Hey there, Welcome to SS :) I am a semi-lurker on here too, post once in awhile. More frequent on the sister site BYC.

ANYWAYS. I only read up to page 12? I think? But I think in your confusion you are almost asking for us to help "revise" your eating plan? I also hope you don't eat chicken EVERYDAY and nothing else. How so boring! :(

Now, I am not a nutrition-freak (in the most respectful sense!) like Free and some of the others. But I do know that maybe you should try and up your protein in the morning. Oatmeal is good on the days you work, but could you change your snack from apples/almonds to an hard boiled egg? Or add the egg in eating oatmeal as well? Maybe get some good ol' pig belly (bacon!) into that breakfast too! I know cooking up bacon isn't sometimes ideal before going to work, so maybe do it on your days off?

In fact, being Sicilian I live off the Mediterranian diet, and I think Free and Wifey would simply kill me for all the carbs I eat :hide :( But it works for me. My body utilizes and burns up the carbs quickly. I eat pasta at LEAST....4 times a week. If I don't get pasta...watch out. It's no good. I eat more cheese than I thought was humanely possible. I have garlic at practically all meals. I eat tomatoes in some form every single day lol. So, on that note..i'm not going to give out solid nutritional advice ;)

What I can say is maybe increase your protein in the morning, good fats!, eat more (my god you must be starving! Starving your cells is NOT a good thing. Body reacts badly), and have more variety in your diet!!! Also, maybe get your iron checked. Are you anemic? Anemic people (espessially with anemias related with iron-such as Thalassemia) tend to get cold faster, and stay cold longer. Check out your iron. Don't take iron supplements however if your aren't already. Some peoples bodies store iron dangerously (mine) and iron can quickly reach toxic levels. I need all my iron to come from food, rather than supplements. Ask your Doc about that if your iron is low, or you're anemic.

Ok, a couple more things that are likely to happen here.

Usually when you change your diet, your body will respond with an immediate reaction. For about two weeks. Then it will start making long term adjustments, and it may seem like you are just losing ground again.

So the initial reaction is going to be different than the long term one. Generally, you'll notice it, and that is about when you start a consistent exercise program.

The mind, however, takes more than two weeks to adjust. It takes a month. It takes a full month for most people to form new habits, and generally about the second week, you are going to start trying to sabotage yourself.

About that point, we start to feel rebellious, or to get careless, or to forget to be diligent.

Stick it out. You may go in with 10 changes and only maintain 5, but you've made that progress. So just KEEP those for the month, then the next month start over on some that you dropped.

Keep doing that and you'll develop new habits. If you get discouraged in the second week, when it seems like everything is falling apart (and your body reactions are changing too), it can stop you from getting the long term benefits, which only come when you change for good.

Homemade pizza is good food. I use whole wheat crust (from a simple no-sugar fermented bread dough), organic sauce (no MSG), cheese without rbgh, olives, organic meats, organic veggies, etc. The leftovers reheat easily, or freeze for later use.

Homemade soup can be fast to make, and produces leftovers. Make it hearty, with lots of veggies, stew meat, etc.

You'll do better if you have good leftovers to use when you are in a hurry.

Hope your doing ok!
Well HEY THERE BubblingBrooks!

I was going to update this thread this past weekend but just got so busy, I forgot!

As to the opriginal intent of the pleas for help...

Drum roll please...

I am NO LONGER cold all the time! :celebrate

I want to stop here and thank you all for your time and patience!

I have been moving closer to the better ways to eat outlined here and also have made the following discoveries:

1. I dropped about 8 lbs within the first week, which I expected as that happens almost all the time when you change your diet. After that, it started creeping back up and seems to have leveled off at about a 4 lb drop so far.

2. I am no longer miserably sleepy in the afternoon. I make it through the day full of energy.

3. My mood has been WAY more upbeat lately. Back to my old outgoing, joking self.

4. I almost never have blood pressure spikes any more.

5. My hands don't seem to be as achey in the joints as before.

Now, my DD is coming around too and we have started replacing the household products that have flour, soybean oil, and HFCS with more natural food. (We made our own butter this weekend!)

I do have more questions about some of this stuff though. Should I ask them in this thread to keep it all together or open a different thread for indivual questions? Seems like each forum I visit has their own preferences.

I have also read Eat Fat Lose Fat and Nourishing Traditions as well as done a lot of reading on the Weston A Price site and watched Fathead. (Also spent some time on the 180 site and read 1 of the free eBooks)

I have decided that as of now, I am setting a timeframe of 3 months and will reevaluate myself.

I will definitely post back here as one of my pet peaves is when you find an interesting thread and want to know the outcome of something and the trhread just dies after the OP says they will report back.

Anyway, THANK YOU ALL for the encouragement!

Tom
