Quail, you'll do great with your duck eggs! I hope you make gobs of money. I bought some last year for my Christmas baking. I'm ashamed to say I paid $3 for a half dozen.

Everyone cross your fingers for me that I still have chickens in the morning. This evening at about dusk there were five raccoons sniffing around my yard. I'm pretty sure they can't get into the coop so it should be ok. They just make me nervous.

What did duck eggs do to for the baking? Is it taste or texture or what? that you need duck eggs?

I seem super duck egg illiterate!

Very cool about the duck egg situation. Out of curiosity how loud are ducks anyway?
Well, if anything comes through my yard at night, I have several alarms LOLOL

The male ducks are quiet. Females are quite loud. Especially when you have more than one.

We have named one of the female Rouens HAHA because when she quacks she seriously sounds like she is laughing at us!!!

FarmerChick- the duck eggs have a higher fat content than chicken eggs so they make everything a little richer. Cookies are a little more buttery and cakes are a little more moist.

I have thought about having a few ducks but I've heard that they are messy. I just don't have enough space for super poopers :(
