Harrison County Ohio -- more specifics coming.

I think the proposed location would lend well to a wild foraging class, and I have a person in mind to ask about coming -- unless one of you here are already skilled in that area.

I could probably donate a roo for the butcher block. Basic butchering to me is without the fancy plucker and scalder? Anyone have a big pot for doing the scald water over a fire? That would be neat -- and very basic.

Keep the ideas flowing.

Umm, and this will be a family-friendly event with young kids around, so leave your nasty magazines at home.

I called about the Harrison State Forrest Camp Grounds...

Camping is FREE. Whomever individuals or groups that want to go camping just have to show up and set up camp.

There's a small pond for fishing, and I think the one day fishing license is like $3.

Each camp site has a paved area for parking your vehicle, a fire ring for a cook fire, and a trash can (at least they all did last year).

There's restrooms, but I can't remember if there's a water source, E said he thinks they shut the pump down (hand pumped well).

This is a highly wooded area, and you're pretty much camping in the middle of the woods. There are paths through the woods and it's quite beautiful. Not real huge trees, tho, because they did mine it and logged it years ago.

So, I am pretty sure this will be the locale for our SS Get Together. We will be planning this for a Friday night camp over into Saturday.

As for dates, ya'll have your choice:

June 25-26
July 9-10
July 16-17
July 23-24
July 30-31
Aug 6-7

Any later than the first weekend in August, and we might run into families with kids going back to school...

So, these are all Friday-Saturday dates, ya'll can talk it over, check your calendars, and post your vote for one of the above dates.

Who says we're hippies? Don't hippies have cooties? Its only a 2.5 hour drive from here, was there a mention of perhaps a pig on the spit? State park might not let us do that, I could make up some sausage to cook on a open grill.

LOL... Hippies.... Maybe my mom would have been a hippie, me a generation X hippie have my hair cut like a choir boys. Combed neat and folded to the right side. I look like just your average fellow, can you figure if a person was SS by looking at them or the way they dress.

How many folks are going to come? If there is going to be 15-20 other folks going?
