It's good to know that you're gonna hang around.

Here, have a beer. Washes everything down nicely.

Incidentally, I eat crow with Ranch. (B/C it covers the flavor of everything but still tastes really good :D)

I hope everything is alright now..

Not sure if the whole crow thing was an analogy, but.. I find it much better than Roller pigeon, much larger and often more abundant, but thats just me.

You mean not everyone eats crow!?? Heck, its all part of our nutritional makeup here. Physically, and mentally. We all have our own way of dealing with things. I tend to get a little fired up sometimes...I type, reread, then erase, then retype...just to "save face" before I hit submit. I have several times been offended at first reading...then, go back, re read, and take it all in...Forums can be tricky...cant see, or hear the emotions. Glad you are staying...its great to hear about everyones adventures..good or bad, we can all learn from one another.

*blush* you got inspired by me??? Will wonders never cease....

Yes, please serve yourself a great big plate of crow and keep on posting! You are just someone that is straightforward when it comes to your feelings and sometimes we all need to hear that. So many people sugar coat things and say what they want people to hear. It's nice to see someone shoot straight from the hip, you know what I mean? Everyone puts their feet in their mouths sometimes, forgive and forget. You haven't offended me, I've enjoyed your posts! :hugs

Thank you for your understanding, and thanks for being here. Posting is different in a forum, I have been guided by a friend like all of you. But I needed to say a thank you to friend that is just a great person here on SS. I am thankful that all of you are so kind to belly up and eat some crow when you didn't have too.

Thanks for your support, and thanks to you for helping me. :hugs

So lets move forward, and get green..

I rented the bobcat today to dig the sum of 55 holes for planting the trees.

The first picture is of the trees I am planting along my side of a property border. I use to mow the whole area, 12 feet beyond my property mark, as the prevous owner had done for 27 years. But that became an issue..... I guess a spanish galleon filled with gold once sailed over this property here in PA. :gig

The second pic shows you the hole(s) I dug using the bobcat and 18 inch arbor.

The third picture shows you where my orchard is going in. I did cut some old trees out and will use them for firewood. I also cleared the land of stumps and of weeds. I pulled the stumps out, plowed the area, tilled in the top layer so I could feed the orchard not the weeds.

This morning I started with two raised beds for my strawberries. Although I put up 24 pints of strawberry jam last year, I had to fight the birds, chipmunks, and the family dog every step of the way. A ground hog once found my strawberry patch, and can't find it anymore, ;) .

It's not perfect, I should have asked an engineer to help me. :gig

So what? LOL....

Same bed this evening Hotcapped,

qqqqqqqqq.jpg

As you can tell, buy the early morning sun, I started my first raised bed a little after 0700 this morning. I wanted to take a pic befoe I got done, but I didn't want to wake the wife. So here is a pic of my first raised bed covered in a frost proof cover.

So what is a hotcap? It's a mini green house. After planting and watering your plants, place a wax paper dome over the plant to avoid frost, temper the plants enviroment, keep the moister in, and heat the soil.

You can purchase hotcaps, I make my own for about 4 cents each, to buy them you can expect to pay about 50 cents each.

So I planted 108 strawberry plant this morning, and got on with planting my trees and bushes. I was hard at work today, and I will take some pics tomorrow to share.

I planted 108 strawberrys, 37 trees, and 38 bushes today.

I think I made one mistake with my raspberries, I gotta look into that, but there planted. Because their still asleep, I have some time.

The chicks are now ugly, growing some feathers here and there. I make sure to pick them all up every evening when adding food and water. I even talk to them for social value, and handle all 8 chicks everyday.

I still have to build a carrot box, and I need to set my peas.

I ran out of time today, I did get everything I planted watered today, and I am worried about my grapes.

Tomorrow I still have to dig 10 holes and set the post. I hope my grapes will be doing better.
