Good grief, there was a car-jacking that ended in fatality just a couple miles from us last night. I guess it started at the mall and ended up with a woman getting shot, her husband drove her to the ER and she died. Now, I do not live in a typically high crime area so this added to all the burglaries is insane!

I think people are getting more and more desperate. My sister and parents live in Westlake which is considered a "rich" suburb of Cleveland (neither are rich). There are more and more break ins there and my sister's street is having a really hard time with local kids breaking into cars and stealing stuff. Plus I found out that muslim gangs are now a real problem in North Olmsted and Westlake.

We are having problems in our area with petty theft on the rise. But I think between our dogs and shooting practice on a regular basis, we are being left alone.

We have had 32 homicides this year... some of them double murders. We have some national gangs that have moved into our little town. 3 of 8 women on my team at work have had break-ins, even while they were home!

and yep - K, i'm with you. i think people are getting more desperate. we've started walking the dogs along the other side of our property line - just in case. we want them to know to patrol over there.

Around here in the country, it's druggies. Two separate pairs were breaking into cars and houses in the area this past summer. Thankfully, both sets were caught.

A friend of mine at work was just telling me about some cars being broken into. Apparently her FIL's neighbor had some trouble last week. He (the neighbor) set up an alarm / tripwire type deal and when it triggered again Christmas Eve he shot the guy ... wounded, he still ran away, but he was easy to find.

ETA - a lot of our gang stuff is drugs as well. And our sheriff is a dolt. (google "Billings murder, ninjas" or "Billings murder humdinger" )

MAN! yesterday Debbie and all sproinking around and chasing Nibbles like she was the devil. i dunno if everyone is gonna make it - either b/c they are gonna kill each other or i'm gonna beat them all. what is with the hostility?? wowza

Nibbles keeps getting bigger and bigger. i'm sure there are 47 babies.

and wow on that car jacking. i thought the reporting on ch 6 was pretty bad... and the crime didnt really make sense. it wasnt a very good car and i cant believe the 911 operator "couldnt understand" the caller. wow. i think there is more to the story. but then, i watch a lot of crime shows so i've already come up with a "hum-dinger" of a backstory

anyway - a good reminder to NEVER let yourself be taken to a secondary crime scene. we agreed that they shoulda just busted out of the car and ran. or thats what we woulda done

but then we laughed that we doubt some punk-a$$ thugs would try and jack our big old 4x superduty ford truck with an NRA sticker in the window, driven by a big guy in a 'high and tight' haircut and a camo jacket.

Yeah, I'm thinking there has to be more to the story too - it's just not making sense. They can't find the place where the woman was shot, and they weren't hijacked from the mall - it was down the road. So I dunno. Still scary.

My goats are trying to kill each other over food. There has been alot of head bashing the last few days.
