I was just going to report that Molly wanted me to massage her back when I was trying to check her ligaments like the pictures say. I am not good at that ligament test yet but it sure does not feel like Donalds.

It feels different back there. And yesterday she would not let me touch her there. Her overall tummy shape reminds me now of how Ginger looked during labor. And she has NEVER NEVER wanted me to rub her hips before like just now. Molly is very shy. She has no discharge but she has a nice big udder now. She also has a funny look in her eyes, kinda concerned and vague. And her vulva is swollen. Does this sound like early labor? That is what I'm thinking.

Maybe, maybe not. Hard to say. Sometimes they can fool you and maybe kids are getting into position.

Well nothing else happening yet. Luckily I can see the goats right out my bedroom window. She is standing in the corner of the pen is all, looking vague. She is eating good.
Someone ate a lot of my new mineral block overnight too, probably Molly.

It was a long night of...nothing happening in the little red barn. Nothing except goats with hormones duking it out over everything. Perdy has decided it's too uncomfortable to lie down and I feel bad for her. I don't know how she will ever get her goaty figure back :p

Congrats to my SS friends who had kids of the goat kind last night!
I'm not going to tell my goat girls about it until the weather warms up Friday, because this below zero temp. is too cold and I wouldn't be able to enjoy it :D They will just have to cross their legs. It's really best for everyone.;)

You might want to add a cork to the crossed legs. I understand it works better that way.

I don't think they are going to hold until it warms up :/ I just took out some warm water and Perdy was more talkative than usual and Rory can't hold her tail up.
I think I'm going to go against my 'no heat lamps' stance and put one out just until it warms up. And them I'm going to prepare some little goat coats from clothes my kids have grown out of.

I also found 4 frozen duck eggs. They are finally laying! I still haven't located the egg Linus the cat took.

Good luck Java!!!

I realized it was time with Fudgie when she squatted to pee and instead of pee it was amber goo. Then I said "Uh-Oh" and ran inside to grab a sandwich (the last time I ate was 8 hours earlier) some towels, kidding supplies and that was that.

I'd keep an eye on her!

And - heat lamps aren't all that bad. I actually just use the chick ones and clipped mine to the underside of a shelf in the goat barn. Seems to be working OK and the light was a lifesaver last night as I conducted my hourly checks!
