JJ,

It is very painful to leave your child like that isn't it? I couldn't even leave my daughter with a babysitter for a coupla hours, it was so heartbreaking.

You must not back down from your ex, you gotta spend as much time with that baby girl as you can. NO matter what your ex tries to do to stop you. Even if it just a little time here and there. Little girls need their Daddys!

Good luck to you, being a parent is not easy on your heart sometimes. Is there a way you could move to be closer to her? What is the custody situation?

Best of luck, Sally

i have been lurking around for a cpl days but it seems when i am most stressed etc.. is when i become the most insular.
That's how I am too.

Your gardens are looking great. I wish I could grow fields of feed corn, without having to irrigate it all summer long. Lucky you! :D

Looks like you have plenty of projects to keep you busy. Keep up the hard work and some day your daughter may well prefer to live with you on the land. :)

i also have been getting an egg a day or so from blue still no eggs from little miss now here almost 3 weeks and no eggs yet from bernice?!?
i am almost positive that little miss (bantam leghorn) is not laying in the field i am over all their hideouts during the day and i am sure there is no hidden nest but what the F?$% i was really looking forward for little eggs for my little girl (whos favorite meal is now bacon and eggs from jesses' chickens) is this normal for a bird to stop laying for that long. she seems pretty darn happy otherwise. except for the fact that her man buck owens has fallen for the bs' and has abandoned poor little miss for the big black girls.
well thats it for now
be well

Hey Jesse! Welcome to SS! I love all your pictures! And I think you are doing great! Let me tell you something....you being honest and upfront about your addiction is awesome......if some people knew the things I did when I was in my thirthies to keep a roof over my kids heads and food on the table for them while I was in school and working part time they would be shocked. You are having to fight a battle every day for the rest of your life, something we cant even begin to imagine...and some of the things I have read on these journals have shown me that SS people always "pull themselves up and go on"....I would trust alot of yall with my life!
Especially if I had some goats to barter with! LOL!!!!

i return
i have been lurking
i will try once again to keep up this journaling
mostly these days i have been busy with work. i have had huge staff issues at my toronto offices and we have now fired everyone there except my secretary\assistant. so i have been there lots helping my BP with hiring and with actual events (something i rarely do)
when home i have been bustin my but to get my new laundry facility and linen storage done which has involved 8 days of painting with a sprayer and i still need to do the floors and a final coat on the storage room. so far i have gone through more than 100 g thats on top of the 200 g i put on the wharehouse a cpl months ago. i have been using killz primer blocker and have used so much of it that i got a call from their head office thanking me and asking if i needed a top coat for all that primer.

that being said not alot going on on the home front

gardens are still kickin and i am finally starting to get some maters of my plants!!!
though it hasnt been hot enough for my shepard peppers to turn so i might just harvest them green. eggplants as well as all my peppers are dripping of the plants. most of my pepper plants have at least 8 or more peppers on the a couple have more than 12! my hot peppers are FULL of fruit!

i have planted some kohlrabi and a new round of greens for my fall garden and will be planting some more stuff today. my plan is to build a hoop house green house over the whole thing as fall gets cold then will leave up without the plastic (unless it becomes a chicken house for winter) then use it again in the spring for seedlings etc. seeing as my gardens are moving out into the feilds next year i was going to use the space for a big herb garden or something so i may leave it up till i can sort out something bigger and more permanent.

it seems i have found a source for some EE eggs aswell as a wellsummer pair and some dominque pullets. these are the three breeds that i really want to work with, i think (not ever having any of them before) as well i put in my hatchery order yesterday for 12 BR 12 Cx and 2 RIR cockerels. these will all be coming as day olds and i wont get them till sept 7 which is WAY sooner than id like it to be (except for the fact that i want my chickies NOW!)

so the action that alluded to in my last post
i will give you guys the short and sweet version there is some legal stuff going on so i wont go deep
when i bought this place there were tenants
they didnt pay their rent
i kicked them out (i was going to anyways)
i had the BF work for me to pay his rent he quit when i told them they had to move
a month and half later i come home and as i am walking up (you cant see my yard because of the corn) i hear voices and am wondering what the %$&* i NEVER have visitors. so i turn the corner and there are like 12 cops all in my gardens and on my yard
nows where i will say that i have a permit from the goverment to grow my own pot up to 30 plants i had 15 in my garden no more anywhere
that is till the cops showed up and ripped them all out before i got there.
what happened was the ex tennant got caught doing something and "ratted" me out to save his own neck
he didnt know i had plants but i suspect he was snooping around when i wasnt there after they moved.
needless to say i am very upset about this i use those plants for medicine and now i will have to spend LOTS of money and break the law to get it.
the cops had a search warrant but no right to damage my property with out me present so that is where the legality kicks in
also even after producing my paper work it somehow got leaked to the town paper (weekly and town of 2000) and so it ran so just in case someone missed the 6 cruisers on my yard they now have the misconception that i am some sort of drug dealer or something.
ahhhhhh!!!!!
not the reputation i want and or need in a SMALL community i have just moved too!!
i am already the heratic for wanting to turn my profitable cash crop land into "WHAT and orgasmic farm"
this is a very industrial farming based community
so thats it for that rant

otherwise things are about normal for me overworked, overtired, underfed and bursting with ideas that i have no time or energy for. hopefully this winter will be a good time for getting thing as they need to be so i can be all of those things from working my land not my business.

ok thats enough procrastinating for today i must begin the flea destruction and the house reno i NEED to start spending a day week at least on the shack or i will be freezing my but off in this barn into the winter. something i do not want to do.

be well everyone.

Sometimes adversity just seems to seek us out! You have overcome that before and now it seems you will have to do it again.

Just keep being yourself and be patient - your neighbors will soon learn the kind of person you really are. We did! :)

If your small farming community is anything like my small farming community, there are alot of them who are really growing it illegally. ;)

Let 'em talk. Being a small town, the ppl there knew who used to live in your house, and their reputation precedes them. Once they know who the 'crap' is coming from, and once they get to know you, there should be no worries. And my way of thinking is, if they really want to believe the worst, then their opinions don't matter anyways.

I tried looking up the article. Your newspaper is not online :( ;)
