Thanks for posting the pics, Jesse. Your birds are beautiful.

Why not just have your DD keep up with you on here? Might save you some time from posting twice. Plus, it's a good price, free!

is it really aug. already ahhhhhhh
i think i gotta get some help around here
i figured on being able to tap into the friend bank you know get out of the city come help start an organic farm
well not so....
i am hopping to have my first visitors this weekend (after 3 months) and i am realizing how much i want to \ need to get get done around here before winter. from what i saw last year we get alot of snow around these parts.
i did get my mulching etc done in the gardens 2 days ago and gave every thing a good deep water last night. finally looks like were gonna have some heat for a cpl days more. its been sunny and hot here since wed. aft.!!!!
still no eggs from my new leghorn. but they are getting on fine, except that i have noticed they both have blister like things on there ears.
they each have one on one ear only roos is quite big (well maybe an 1\8" rd) and hens is tiny.
they look nothing like any pics of pox i have seen
not having much luck on byc with this one for some reason!
i need to come up with away to kill two birds or more with one stone here.
what i am thinking is i really need to start pulling stuff from my garden at the same time i need to meet local people, i dont really know anyone here yet. so i am thinkin some kinda meal i just am not sure how to go about it you know finding people to invite other than my neighbors, any ideas?
alright heres what i want to get work on today
1 diesel truck, drive shaft, bleed injectors, test GP relay
2 finish coop put in last few windows finish front with pop door\s etc.
3 start on cleaning out the house (sooo dirty and gross from last tenant i am constantly amazed at how filthy people can get)

thats it for now i also want to spend time in working on new garden and fencing but fencing might have to wait till tom and i will alway make time for gardening

a;right i am over and out

Jesse are your chickens exhibiting any other symptoms? They looked pretty healthy in your photos.

I love those to do lists! It seems we all make them. My lists always have clean the house as last too! :p

the roo was sneezing a bit but i think that was just because of the straw in my coop. they had been kept in wood shavingings before.
other than that no they are very happy and healthy poo looks fine eating etc. lots of energy.
its prety funny to watch the little one (hen) is now the boss of the yard if any of the mutch bigger 11 week old RIR come near her or her man she pecks them away. now they are all scared of her!!!

I would just watch and wait then. If things change post it here and we will help you figure it out.

I had a couple of chickens one time that developed in-grown feathers! They got a huge knot on their head and I thought it was a major illness. When they seemed to stay healthy I ended up doing an exploratory "surgery" on one and found out what the trouble had been. Those two must have been siblings cause I have never seen anything like it before or since. After I lanced the cysts they both healed right up.
