wasn't sure where to post...

i need a job. i am 18 and hard working. i have about 8 years of dairy goat experience and am willing to learn. i would like to stay close but i cannot find a farm job so i am willing to travel now. i have two saanen does that are bred to a nice saanen buck for kidding in may. i can bring them if you're looking for new does. i also have my eye on two white angora does that i haven't bought yet but could buy and bring if you're also interested in them. i don't have to bring my goats if you're looking for a farm hand but not wanting to add to the herd. i am a great gardener and cook. i can clean house, anything. i'm very hardworking and willing to learn new skills. i can work with any animals. i don't have much tractor type skills but like i said, i'm willing to learn.

please :fl please :fl please :fl

most of us just have backyard flocks and herds, stuff that takes just a few minutes to do. Even the garden for us, though it takes time, rarely takes more then /12 an hour per day when averaged out.
I would suggest looking at apprenticing at a large organic CSA.
Should be able to find sites that have lists of farms.
I'll look for a bit for you.

That's a good idea. Google LocalHarvest.com and see if there are any goaty farms around and then contact them and see if they're looking for help. I wish you much luck and I hope you find something that truly makes you happy. Life's too short to settle.

Have you tried looking at WWOOF? (don't remember if it's a .com or a .org) Think it stands for World-Wide Organization of Organic Farmers.

Since you are in Ohio find a copy of Farm and Dairy weekly newspaper. In my area they are available in some grocery stores, convience stores, libraries and TSC stores. There are often farm related jobs listed there. Good Luck!
