Absolutely!!! Wierd bunch aren't we!? My "SIL" made a comment on my gun...she said..." I hear banjos, are they coming from your place?" She has NO idea! I DO have a banjo, even tho I can't play it! LOL

What a great Christmas present! We got our first rifle too I haven't used it yet, but DH and his brothers did.

Oh, this isn't our "first" But...this one is MINE! HAHA! I took my grandson out yesterday, and let him shoot it. He is 10. First time shooting a rifle....not counting the BB gun....he hit the milk jug from about 75 ft away! I was impressed!!! His mom wasn't...she hates guns, but my son was super excited. Grandson talked about it all night I guess...and was telling HER family. Oh, I am sure I am the "talk of the town" in her family right now. LOL I don't care..I want my grandson to learn to shoot, and hunt. Life skills!!

I've told people not to get me any diamonds, unless it's the marking on an animal! I'm just not that into jewelry-though my son did get me a necklace this year that I like. It doesn't have a regular chain, and has a howling wolf on the pendant.

Deb, that necklace sounds beautiful! I told my hubby, " the only diamonds I want, are in a saw blade!" LOL
We were missed by the snow....I am glad. We just got a dusting. Oh, the weatherman said..." This is gonna be a big snow" I think he was talking to the east coast on that one. Sorry all you easterners that got the snow..but I am glad we didn't get it.

ha! you shoulda seen the guy at sears when he was loading up MY 12' compound mitre saw a couple years ago. he just couldnt understand that it was ***mine*** and not my hubbies. he's probably still talking about it.

I bought a mitre saw for hubby this year too....some guy stopped me outside and said, "your husband is one lucky man....." I looked at him and smiled and said "who says this is for my husband?" He didn't know what to say! Technically it was for us both cause I'm the one with all the projects.

We got a .22 with a scope this year!

I love that the girls here get excited about animals, guns, power tools, and farm implements!!! My few girlfriends don't get it. They want clothes and jewelry....what the heck am I gonna do with THAT?

Hock it for something usefull!!!
I went to town today, and stopped at the feed mill. Had to pick up a few...hundred pounds of feed.
So T, the owner asked if we had a good Christmas...and of course I told him about my gun. There was another older gentleman in there, ( they all gather there for peanuts and coffee) And he laughed that I was excited about my gun. So I turned to him and said...Im not a diamonds and gold sorta gal...My "precious metals" come in the form of lead, for my gun, and the only diamonds I want are on the tip of a saw blade. " He laughed and said...''now THERE is a woman I wouldn't mind buying for.'' So I said...really?? Great, I need more shotgun shells! We all had a greaty laugh...T just shook his head, and walked to the back.

And that's something I'm loving about this site. I'm not alone, nor am I considered weird. I'm considered normal on here and people understand!
