Nope, at this point, I am thinking I will leave the trees up and just add reed hearts for Valentines day! Oh, if I had the motivation to do things INSIDE!!! I want to get OUTSIDE!
I WILL have a fire...I will have a fire...LOL

Its not boring!!! I think you got "the itch"...

So what is this itch? Well its started when the mail is picked up, and they start coming in.

Its not the ones with clothes or the ones with processed beef for sale. Its not even one of your general SS nifty stuff to help you live more independent.

It starts off with the thin black and white ones, then the thicker purple one arrives. Days later, the thinner color ones arrive. Then the thicker color ones arrive, than the big ones arrive (XL 14 x 8 inch). Then the strange ones start coming promising alien like results to share and brag to your friends.

The excitement builds, as the snow falls, it draws our attention to "the spot", but nothing is there but snow....

You sit and blame where you live or mother nature herself, you then get the itch......

I sit upon my outhouse platform I begin to read/scratch the itch...

As look down before I leave, I realize it is all these seed catalogs coming in the mail that caused this to happen....

Then I get this lil spot inside that starts to glow, thinking of the garden that is to come this year. The taste of fresh food, the work and the rewards. Looking into my pantry or freezer and feeling proud of the fruit of my labor.

Ohhh, thats it! I have " the itch"!!!!! I want to plant something...nurture something...grow something. Maybe I will just fire up the old incubators, and get me a few dozen fluffy butts goin. I need to check fertility first tho.
I did't get my fire today..ran to town, the bank, drugstore, dropped a cooker off at my sons...wal mart, feed store, back to the bank, gas station, back to the pharmacy to pickup, then met with a woman to share some Kiefer grains. She has 3 little dogs living in her van!!!! O M G the stench!!! She said she found them on the side of the road, eating on an old deer carcass. UGH! They are cuties..im guessing boxer/lab/husky mix. I ALMOST brought one home...but refrained. Came home, put up the chickens and ducks, put away the feed, closed the barn, watered the piggies, and I am starting coffee now. Whew. Gonna get the fire going..and relax, AFTER I get a shower, to wash that stench off of me! Those poor pups....her van is trashed!!! I mean....T R A S H E D !!!!!!! Feces and urine all over..the liner torn up and hanging...OMG...made me sick!
OK, shower...coffee..and a warm fire..yeah, that sounds good!
J....thanks...just ...for everything...thanks!

Boy everyone here needs a dose of me and Tanks' warm Cali sun!

Why on earth would a sane (assumption?) woman keep three dogs living in her van? That is quite odd!

Oh, she is far from sane....trust me. Her "nickname" is "Crazy Angie" She buys farm animals in the summer, then freaks out when winter gets here because she " didn't have time to build suitable shelter" and brings them to be. She wont mow her property, because " everything is either eatable, or medicinal." Yup, she is one of "those" However, I am intrigued by her. Not sure why. :idunno

So, today started out pretty good! I had to run into town, to get feed....of course. Stopped at the little Family Dollar store to pick up drinking glasses. I had broken the last one this morning! Once I got to the Dollar store, I saw this little old lady practically RUN towards the back..clearance area. So, of course I HAD to go see what was up! They had just marked down the last of the Christmas deco to %90 off! I got 4 lit garlands, 50 cents each! I was also able to get 2 of the most beautifull red metal stars, to put on the barn next year...for 30 cents each! I was pretty happy with myself.
Left there, and picked up a few things at the grocery...cabbages for the chickens.. 25 cents a pound. Not bad. I hang a head in each pen...about twice a month. They love it.
Went to the smaller coop..and this is where my "good day" went sad.
My little white frizzle cochin, FrizFriz...is sick. She is just standing there...fluffed up. So I took her out and offered her water. She drank untill she was throwing up. So, I brought her inside...but she doesnt look too good. :( I am pretty sure she wont make it through the night. I have BAWLED most of the evening...holding her in a towel, and rocking her. Crazy chickens....get me to lovin them, then get sick! She is 4 yrs old...and well, I think the cold finally got to her. She will snack a little on the mashed up tomatoe with chick starter in it...but mostly sleeps. :( As I was sitting here with her, I heard the other banty chickens throwing a fit. So I go out with the gun, and flashlight. Just a stray cat...fighting with my male cat. I chased him off..and came back inside, to cuddle with my Friz. Wasn't but maybe 20 minuted later...the bantys are going off again...so I head out with just the flashlight, thinking it that cat again. I peek into the coop...and there was the BIGGEST....MEANEST possum...biting on the wire on the pen doors, trying to get to the little Banty's. OH HECK NO! I run to the house and grab the .22 pistol. Didint want to use the shotgun inside the coop..Now, I know..I "probably" went too far...but remember...I am worried about my frizz. So, mr Possum got 5 rounds...straight to the head! BAM,BAM,BAM,BAM,BAM!!!!! I didnt even realise I shot 5 rounds...untill I was done...and he wasn't moveing. So, I get my gloves on, and move the carcass outside the coop. I will deal with it tomorrow....for tonight, I have my little hen in a box, on a towel..with water and tomatoes with chick starter. She is drinking lots of water...but will "gag" afterwards, and sometimes throw it up. Just the water. The food is staying in. Maybe this is a good thing. I will know in the morning. Here is my little girl...FrizFriz....I love her so much....

Sorry your chicky isn't doing well, but I am grinning at the image of you blasting that possum. Sounds like you needed to get some pent-up feelings out.
