Cynthia is a name that means the moon in (?)greek I believe. If they were born last night, they were also born on Cinco De Mayo, so maybe "Cinco" for the buckling or something in Spanish related to Cinco De Mayo? They're gorgeous! I sure thought she'd have more in there though by the width of her! Either way, CONGRATS!
Thanks everyone.....we really thought there would be 3 or 4.....However, I am SUPER happy with just the 2.
Everyone is doing just fine... I will have to do some animal rearranging so I can get them in a different stall, with a yard.
So....on the SS front....I am pretty sure we are finished with the garden planting...at least my hands and back say we are. Here is what we have...
2 - 15 ft rows of beets.
200+ onions
2 - 30 ft rows of green beans
24 Tomato plants
12 peppers
2 - 30 ft rows of Yukon Gold Potatoes
Once the beets are out of the ground ( should be soon) I will be planting hard corn, for the animals. I should be able to get 3 rows @ 15 ft long. Not much...but every little bit will help.
So today I have been inside mostly....Thunderstorms. YUK! I did get a few minutes to go sit with the babies.....They are looking good, strong, and at 48 hrs old, trying to pip pop around a bit.
Here is the boy...curious one he is....whatcha think, will the ears stay floppy or straighten out?
The little girl does NOT like being picked up...Nor does Suzie like me picking them up! LOL
Oh, I am proud grandma! LOL Now I have to decide what to do with them. The little doeling...will be pygmy size, I am pretty sure. She had the waddles under her chin, and is quite a bit smaller than the buckling. Now the Buckling, might be Alpine size. I might just have him banded....and keep him for a pasture mate for his daddy. I will have to see how it goes....in 8 weeks.
