I just rarely leave the house LOL. That, and we don't own anything. We've had neighbors stop by for various things and it always confuses them. If someone walked by and looked in they'd see utterly nothing. No tv, no gaming systems, no stereo....

There's a freezer and cupboards of kitchen in the living room.

Back in the bedrooms we each have a computer.

There are BOOKS. Lotta books.

And fabric. They could steal my silks LOL.

I've actually never been robbed by a stranger. Break ins don't worry me.

I rather assume anyone who stops by without an invite is casing us, anyway. Since they have all so far seemed confused and asked why we don't own anything, I think we are epic fail in the casing department.

My sister and I used to play that game. Go to a neighbors and you had 2 minutes to invent something to ask them and on the way home you had to know what they had and how to take it.

We never committed any crimes. Um. Just saying.

But it's great practice for observation.

We invented a lot of great games growing up!

You guys are funny  Trust me, if I never had to leave I wouldn't. But we do have family across the state that we like, and I have young kids so I have to leave the house sometimes. It would just suck if their Christmas and birthday presents got stolen.

I would think that thieves are looking for easy targets with no dogs or dogs tied up outside. They would want a quick grab and run.

You could always get one of those signs that says you are protected by ADT or something. Even if you aren't, they don't know that.

Note to self.... If I am ever in Co. steal Abi's silks. :D

I am not really sure why I am so trusting but... I live on a hill. I have a 360 view. There's really no place for anyone to SNEAK up. We have left on vacation before for the weekend and a 10 day trip and forgot to close the garage door. :hide

Luckily we have never had any issues with theft or strangers. I have almost always had a Rottie on the premises. That might have something to do with it.

That and I am usually always home.

I do need to get in some target practice though.

My in-laws have the sign from the previous owners of their house, they just left it up, who would know...?

I'm always highly suspicious of strangers coming to the door for any reason; I'll step outside & close the door to speak with them (right after they see the barking, snarling dogs, of course, heehee). You never know. :/

I pretend like my dog is a hound from hell too. I crack open the door ever so slightly if I don't sense a threat and keep her behind me where she can be seen but not heard.
One time we had a salesman stop in and he was - honest to God - carrying dog treats! Made my spidey-sense tingle. He couldn't see the dog and said something like "that sounds like a big dog" I said " It IS a big dog" then he whipped out his dog treats and I was not expecting that so I handed one to her to eat. Then I started panicking, thinking it was poison. I have a bit of an overactive mind fro too many crime shows on TV :p
