I would think if something is FREE they would jump right on it! Why would they mess around and string you along if they REALLY wanted the item!
I asked my DH the other day about taking out half of our sectional couch...the part with the pull out bed in it...and keeping the part the looks like a regular couch and he did not want to drag it out of the house!! I want to put a sewing table where that part of the couch is so that my sewing machines are not all over the dining room table all the time. I will have to ask him again when he is not tired...or just have the boys do it when he is at work!!

I have a 13 and 11...plus a 9 yo...so I do not do any heavy lifting even when I am not pg!! I have boys for a reason!! 13 yo is like having another adult around the house! He is a super good boy! I bet if I can just get them to get it out the back door that would drive DH crazy having it sitting in the yard and he would at least help get it moved to the burn pile!

Or you could put it on freecycle or craigslist and have someone else drag it out and remove it.
I don't have enough patience to wait around for someone to 'maybe' show up!

Lucky! My younger brother is 13 turning 14 in February and we can't get him to do ANYTHING. He acts like it's a huge to-do when we ask him to do the chickens' waterer, or close up the coop for the night, insisting that he shouldn't have to do OUR jobs. Typical piggish man he is, but if he thinks he's going to get a free ride these days, he's got a nother thing coming! He'll be walking the .5KM to the bus at the end of the driveway, he'll be mucking out the sheep stalls in the barn come Spring, he'll be nailing up the rails for the second bit of fencing, cleaning out the chicken coop in the spring when it's time for the deep litter to say goodbye.

No lazy business these days!
