Rest in Peace, Mrs. Ford. Prayers for her family and friends. Mrs. Ford died last night at the age of 93.

Elizabeth Bloomer Warren Ford and our Buff Orpington, Betty Ford.

With her blonde "hair" and white legs, which reminded me of tights that a Martha Graham dancer might wear, Betty was our homage to Mrs. Ford.

Ah, I hadn't heard this news. Good picture of Betty, the hen. :) She still is going strong at my house.

Same here on the storms. Had the look and feel of tornado potential on the forefront of the storm. Wind was wicked and then torrents of rain came. We lost Internet for a while. Still some thunder.

Wow you sure have been a busy girl!

I had blackberry jelly and jam on my to do list for today, but heat indexes of over 100 changed my mind. ;) Instead I have been doing some piddling around the house and hiding in the air conditioning this afternoon.

This morning I went to the dump in the connecting town with my son to throw away a HUGE broken TV that he inherited by moving in with my BIL. :/ They had a heck of a time moving it out and to the truck this weekend. My SIL and the GEEK son (both are BIG strong guys) were really struggling with it. After they got it loaded up, we looked it up on Google. The thing weighed 239 pounds!! And here I was teasing them while they struggled with it! :p

My MIL used to LOVE murder mystery books and shows. That dear tiny little Christian lady was always watching Forensic Files or some other real life mystery drama.

When I read it is almost exclusively non-fiction - with the occasional Zane Grey thrown in. :p

Regarding dgs's playoffs - DD tells me that the commisioner set times for play-off games:

Today dgs's team plays one game at 8pm.
And even if they lose that game, they will play games at 5pm and 9pm on Tuesday.

Sounds like a heck of a schedule for 10 year olds. :smack

Well, I'm off to get started.

Have fun!
Jamie - DD says the person who ordered the shirts did not put the "xxxx's mom" or the child's number on the back of the parents shirt. So what dd got was a UT shirt... oh boy. I suggested black sharpie or fabric paint to "make it hers", but dd probably won't. I think instead she is going to refuse to pay the $6 personalization fee.

Dear #1Grandson and his team won their first play-off game last night! The score was

10 to 0
:celebrate :weee :ya :clap They have been playing this way all season....

Two games tonight - 5pm and 9pm. To me that is just a brutal schedule for 8 to 10 year olds.

Good luck Longhorns! Go #3!
Good luck!+
:thumbsup :woot

We had two solid games (16-4, 14-3) to move the divisional championship game on Saturday. We made it there last year and got thumped. :D A win sends us to regionals. :fl

DS went 7-8 with 3 doubles and walk (would have had a 4th double, but he thought he missed 1st base, so went back). He's not the fleetest of foot, so the doubles were more impressive in person than as cold stats.
