When the Christain Cafe starts up again, let me know! If the weather is nice, I might be able to talk DH into coming up for a visit ;)
That would be great - probably June?! :gig

That is an awesome ministry!!! And even more awesome that you and your DH help!!
We do not have a fellowship hall...just a small cafe...so it would not be possible to do this at my church.
The youth group does sell food in the cafe every Wednesday as a find raiser for people who want to come early. Someone from the church donates a different soup every week. All the proceeds go to the youth group.

You guys are awesome...our church doesn't really do that, we have a food pantry but that's all.

How much snow have you all gotten so far? We have been mired down in the mud with all the rain that we have had...my poor kids miss being able to go out and play but it is just too muddy out...the chickens like it though!

Your ministry sounds amazing, and it is benefiting so many, what a wonderful thing.

We have local church programs that feed the needy a warm meal every day, and I'm not ashamed to say, over 23 years ago when I first came to this area with my son, if it hadnt been for this program we would have gone hungry more than once....you are amazing people, and the deeds you do are appreciated, there are people who are eternally grateful for acts of kindness - I'm one of them....Thank you for your Christian Cafe and personal contributions also.

I'm glad you guys are able to do so much good....we are having issues in our church now...My great great grandfather built this church and it has always been good country folk that look out for each other and the community.

Now the area has become very touristy and we are getting a lot of wealthier folks coming into the church and things have changed a lot. There is a lot of fussing and fighting and the new pastor seems very concerned with "keeping up with the Joneses".

A lot of the old timers are having a hard time with this change and the direction the church is headed in...seems to have gotten away from some of the values that it used to have. Priorities have changed and serving the community has kind of fallen to the wayside. I am glad that they still do the food pantry cause I know how much a lot of the people in that area need the support.

We've lost a lot of members in the last couple of years to other churches. My mom and I work with children's church and sunday school for the kids. It just seems like some of the people in the church are getting greedy and there is a definite division. It's sad.

It just seems like there is such a focus on money nowadays...it's awful.

I'm glad things are going well for you guys...hope you don't get anymore ice...we've been lucky so far with our weather, just rain, heck, I wore flip flops today!

Take care,

Lori
