We had eggs with biscuits and gravy for lunch on Sunday. I had some gravy left over.

Today I watered it down with a bit of additional milk, added some crushed garlic, parmesan and cheddar cheeses to it. Then I made macaroni and cheese for lunch. DH took the left over mac and cheese in his lunch for work.

I love easy and cheap. ;)
I've always wondered what I could do with left over gravy.

Thanks. :bow

She said she put white vinegar in the bleach dispenser and in the softener dispenser for her white towels; and they came out very white and soft. My sil is just starting to think outside the commercialism box. But she has a long way to go.

I use coupons for two items - Jif Peanut Butter and Maxwell House Coffee. There is nothing else we buy that is a brand name. So I am not a big coupon user; sil is all about coupons. In fact, she has just added a second subscription to her local newspaper per week. So she will get two copies of the same newspaper every day. This will cost my bil $24/month JUST for the coupons. :duc

SIL has written to ask me my opinion and I am trying to think of a polite way to tell her I think she is off her rocker! Unless she can get $24 worth of savings per month from coupons (which I think is very unlikely) I think she is wasting money.
Does white vinegar work that well? I've never tried it.

She should work for the newspaper that distributes the coupons. I worked for 2 area papers as a paste-up artist while in college and brought home piles of coupons a foot thick to give to friends and family each week. Or befriend someone who works there, lol.

Two newspapers??? Why doesn't she just ask some friends if she can have theirs? I am like you, we buy store brand stuff mostly and it seems as though all the coupons are for sugary "snack" type foods that we don't eat so i don't use them either. There are lots of websites that she can go on if she wants coupons for free. Tell her to look at www.shop4freebies.com and go under their coupon section. She can also go to the websites of the companies that she purchases from the most (like Nabisco or Post cereal) and lots of times they will let you get coupons from them. I would tell her to get rid of the 2 paper subscriptions, though...that's just overkill.
