Oh, poor little guy has pnumonia!!! I put him on my dirty barn coat in a muck bucket and brought him to the vet late this afternoon. Antibiotics IM for a week, and temp taking.....dh will have to hold him for me!!! (tee-hee )
I had to set up a heat lamp in a corner of the stall, makes me so nervous. I dealt with a barn fire once, lost my horse years ago, don't want to ever have to go through that again. I hung the lamp in a corner and put up a piece of plywood to block direct access by mama. Baby can get under the board and get to the heat. I set up plastic Blok Cavalletti (you English riders know what I'm talking about) to make the nest cozy, also he can climb on them when he feels better.
So much for avoiding more big bills and getting him off the property by the time he's weaned! Nothing like getting super attached by playing nurse to a sick baby.....
