My friend gave me 2 nanny goats today! Peaches is an 8 weeks old and her mama is a purebred boar nanny and her dad is a milk goat. Daisy is her full sister from last year. Daisy had a baby boy this year and she not only nursed her baby- she nursed her moms baby also- they shared him. So she is a good mama.

My friend has decided to breed strait boar goats. Pluss she didn't want the girls breeding back to their dad. (Daisy did last year, but had a boy)

So now I REALY need a billy! Lol he will be a happy boy!

We got a new computer today so we will see about hooking up internet so I can post pics again!

How do you change the name of the title? I have seen some of you do that.

We had the cops show up once- they thought it was cool. But they did say not to fire it off between 10pm and 8 am. I must add that the cannon is on the "family" farm in missouri.

I did get a call late last night, someone in town got their kids chicks for easter, and now they are flying. And they don't want them anymore. So free chickens for me! He said they were the pullets. Didn't say what breed though.

The horses got loose last night @ 1 am. I don't know why they have to wait till the middle of the night to get loose! Durring the day I just leave them out. Fairrer is coming tomarow.

50% chance of rain today. But I think I will teather the goats out anyway.

At least the horses are on your property! It's no fun when they're not (10.4 miles away!), the FO is away, and you get a call that the horses are out. :barnie I don't know how much fence I've had to fix when she's been away cuz I HATE getting a call about loose horses. The worst was when there were no horses loose, it was freezing cold out and all we can figure is that the neighbor doesn't know the difference between horses and deer. :he

Next time that neighbor calls, I'd just have to ask "You mean the horse with the antlers?"

My favorite was when we got a call from the sheriff that the horses were out and we were home and I had them tethered in the yard!

We have been having a lot of trouble with the new neighbor. He is stupid! He was brought up here from atlanta, georga and has never been in the country before. So what does he do??? He comes to iowa and gets 10 acers! He then decides to put a moble home on it. Does he put in a slab, concreat pillers, or even some gravel? No. Does he put a septic tank in? No. He came to us to ask "how do I get electric?". And he tries to put in said trailer house in after a month of solid rain and to get in the property you have to go down a steep hill off the road then it comes up again- it goes down @4 ft in about 5 feet from the road. Then back up. Well guess what happened when they got to the bottom of that hill with the trailer? The floor was level with the ground and you couldn't see the tires!

He is the one that asked me one day when I was riding my donkey on the road if a horse was expencive. I said it depends on it you want one broke or not. He said what does broke mean? I said wait I have the perfect horse for you! (Unbroke untouched 3 yr old!) Hehehe. He is terified that a wild animal will walk on his property. He shoots at anything that moves and I have heard that he has bought a lot of guns.

Unfortunately, they didn't call me. They called another neighbor that has horses, and she was the one that called me. She and her kids were out there trying to find the horses. She was in her pickup, driving all thru the fields, the kids were on their 4 wheelers. I had hopped on the back of the one, but we couldn't find them. So I told them to drop me off at the farm and I'd see if I could at least figure out who was missing so we knew how many horses were out. (This was B4 we had the farm arranged like it is now.) I'm out there w/a flashlight, checking for horses and checking fence lines. The horses got spooked and the whole herd came rushing to me for protection! There's nothing quite like having 11 horses running towards you in the dark. I managed to get them to stop short of me B4 I got trampled. And, I couldn't find any horses out, or any place where they could have gotten out. So, we all went home. Next afternoon, I got the same call. This time I took my time getting out to the farm and sure enough, not a horse was out. So, I checked in the fields on either side as well as in the woods. I think I might have found some mini tracks, but no horse tracks. And, I found a TON of deer tracks.

I don't have the heart to pick on city folks who move out to the country, cuz I'm married to one, but I have to admit, he asks some pretty weird questions sometimes
