Yep, the center is a panel but the border tulips are all pieced. We bought $20 of raffle tickets.....maybe I'll get lucky and get to keep that one in the family!

Oh, and, BIG NEWS!!!!!

THE HOUSE IS HERE! THE HOUSE IS HERE! THE HOUSE IS HERE!

I got some pics of it going down the road yesterday, first half is set, the deck is in Lynchburg and will be here in a couple hours and the house will be totally set up by this afternoon!!!!

I'll get some pics up this weekend.....it really is going to look good! I'm so excited! :weee

:ya yay for you :ya

I remember watching our being brought onto our property - if my Dad hadn't been there I would have bawled like a baby - he would have given me a hard time so I didn't let any tears escape but my eyes were full. Of course it was the first time we were actually going to be homeowners so I was a wee bit emotional.

That quilt is so gorgeous! I especially like the scalloped edges. I envy people who have the patience to make something like that.

Monday

Rain, rain and more rain. Put 3 loads of sheets and towels on the line last evening not knowing that it was supposed to rain all day today :he

Now I am inside washing all the clothes and using the dang dryer but I have no choice.....hubby is out of underwear and socks.

Both kids are sick. Maddie is running a fever of 101 and moping around like crazy. Tyler's coughed so much he can hardly talk. Both have stuffy noses and are refusing to eat pretty much anything. I got them both to take a few bites of a PB&J this afternoon.

The porch is set, all the 6x6 posts are in place and now we have to build the steps. Chad is meeting with the electrician and our builder to get the inside work done. We really want to paint the inside of the trailer. Everything is beige :sick We also want to replace the fireplace surround, it got slightly damaged in the move and we have never really liked it anyway. I am also thinking about painting the kitchen cabinets white. They are a kind of oak color now but they almost look kind of orangey to me. It's gonna kill my family to see all the changes that we want to make on the house but it's OUR house now and we don't have the same tastes as my mom and granny. We want everything clean and uncluttered and my mom and granny had fake flowers all over the walls (you wouldn't believe how many holes there were) and flowery curtains that are still there and ugly beige carpet that I know at least 3 dogs have pooped on and even though it has been cleaned thoroughly by professionals I still want it GONE.

My MIL had a doublewide before that she painted and she took down all the little strips and mudded and taped and sanded and then painted and it really looked good.

Septic should be done this week as well as the well lines to the house. Hopefully we can get the plumber out to look at everything this week too. It is so surreal to see a house up there on the hill where there was once an empty field. It really does blend in nicely with the rest of the houses on the street.

Oh, and I am now going old school til we move.....my mother blew up my microwave yesterday. I can't complain, it was 16 years old. I refuse to buy a new one for this house when we have one in the new house.....I don't need 2.

We have scaled back the barn quite a bit to keep within budget. We have 6 goats coming as soon as it gets done and I am still waiting to see if Bered will kid. She is supposed to be due in 8 days or so....Barb said her udder was firming up some but not as much as it should be for where she is. She laughed and said, "all we can do is wait" Dang goat.

Had a gentleman come and buy a dozen fertile duck eggs this morning.....he paid me in quarters :th

We also had some drama this morning.....dead bunny. My neighbor down the road found a little white dwarf bunny in her front yard yesterday and came and got me. Her cat had bitten it on the neck but it didn't look too bad. I told her I would try and see if it would make it but it died sometime in the night. Maddie was really upset.....

Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Well, gonna go snuggle with my daughter. I'll see if I can get some pictures up later of the house.

No wonder you are pooped, you got a lot of exciting things in the works.

Bummer about the micro, it won't be long though!

OFG--oh yeah, it went out in a "blaze of glory" apparantly. She said the outlets were arking (sp?) there were sparks and stuff coming out of the outlets. I'm glad I was at TSC getting saw blades for my dad. On the upside, they did clean up the kitchen for me :D

Well, kids are still sick, I got kicked to the other bedroom last night. I went to crawl into bed and discovered BOTH kids on my side of the bed so I crashed in Tyler's room.

The doublewide passed inspection....I think they had to come inspect the footers again once it was in place. Chad met the electrician yesterday and he is ordering the parts needed. He's meeting with the construction guy today to go get the door jambs and some trim pieces that need replacing.

My husband gave away our extra freezer yesterday... :somad I just love it when he "declutters". :smack

Supposed to rain some more tonight but for now there is a break so I'm hoping that the clothes on the line will dry out enough that I can get them in and finish them in the dryer tonight.

Anybody use a shed as a barn? We are looking at getting one for the goats and leaving the floor dirt. I dunno. Trying to cut costs.
