Happy Valentine's Day everyone! :love

I'm still sick but we got out there in the wind and got the fence posts done. Gotta go into town today and deposit that whopper check, it's making me nervous having it in the house.

I'll try to get some pics this afternoon when I get home...thanks for all the input guys!
Happy VD to you as well Lori! Keep a tight hold on that check in the wind!

Well, I got the check in the bank yesterday and transferred some of the funds to other accounts. Got the check in the mail for the goats today too so that's done.

I got some pics uploaded of the fence for the goats. I think we are gonna try the 4x4 goat fencing and if needed we'll add a strand of electric on the inside at shoulder height to keep them from rubbing it. We will have so much waste if we go with the horse fencing. We could possibly have to buy an extra 100ft roll to account for shortages in between the fenceposts. If we had all the fence posts an even 10 feet apart then we could do it but we need 600 feet of fencing and we can only get the horse fence in 200 or 100 ft rolls. It is just going to be sooooo much more expensive. I think we'll be okay. So here is what we have so far: the entire enclosure is 50' x 275' and the lean to that will be enclosed this weekend is 12' x 16'.

Here's the view from the back porch

Here's the view from the front of the house...standing in the pasture that belongs now to BIL :(

And for kicks, here's a couple of pics of Frawg and Tonka from yesterday

I think those are the longest ears I have ever seen! :love

I love your area! FYI, if you have trouble with tiny goat kids going through, just section off an area for them and line it with chicken wire, or whatever. They grow really fast - I swear mine have already doubled. I was going to weigh and measure them, but it was so cold that I ditched the plan. Mine are too big to fit through 4x4 fence holes.

I was thinking of that too...Hubby's concern is them rubbing the fence or trying to put their feet up on it but I'm hoping that the strand of electric on the inside of the fence about 2 ft up will do the trick. Nigerians are so sweet! I can't wait to get my girls home. :love

Awww, those are some cute dogs!

And I have got to stop reading these threads that talk about goats! I'm going to end up doing something rash and notwellthoughtout! :hide

Ha! it's not the dark side its the fun side! And I plan to, its part of my big five year goal plan :D however, I made a promise that I would not get anything that had more than two legs or anything other than feathers until 2012 :) Someone would prefer it wait until I am home full time, but I'm not really sure I can wait that long :D

Just wanted to say that your property is beautiful! So jealous of all that land (our place is about 1/3 acre so I have land envy!).
