She's gotta trip up on those things every once in a while. They are just so darn long. She is soooo cute!!!!

I was going to tell you that my Countryside magazine came yesterday. Practically the whole thing is dedicated to fences, types, tricks etc...

Not sure if you need it now though. Everything looks so great!!! :thumbsup

ooooooo really? I really enjoyed the last issue of Countryside, it had tons of homeschooling stuff just when I needed it.

I don't do a lot of written work for my kids at this point but my son drew a picture this morning and then wrote what it was underneath...by himself. Proud mama!

Then this afternoon he did 16 pages of dot-to-dot, on his own. My DD practiced writing A,B, and C today and practiced her colors and same and different.

I only do written work when I feel like I need to check their progress. That way they don't get burnt out on it. We read The Velveteen Rabbit today too and they both loved it! All 46 pages of it. I couldn't believe they both sat still for the whole thing. Now my son wants me to make him a rabbit :/

Today I just took it easy again, woke up to a bunch of yellow gunk in my nose, running down the back of my throat, and generally making me miserable. Our neighbor's DD came over to play so hubby went to church for his class and let the kids skip music class since she was here to play.

Tomorrow we are going to get the lumber for the 8- 4x4ft raised beds for the garden and the materials for the barn. We are also looking at prefab garage buildings....we are thinking of doing a 24x28 ft garage to help with storage and getting the cars out of the weather. I think we can go more under budget if we go prefab than if we go stick built. We'll see tomorrow when we get some more estimates.

Gonna keep cousin's little boy all week next week. I hope I don't feel like crap all weekend.

Well, gotta go get the cousin back home and get the kids in the bathtub.

Oh, and yes, Frawg walks on her ears all the time....she also sleeps like a rock. You can bend her like a pretzel when she is asleep and she never wakes up. Crazy dog... :love

Sorry :p I still have it, I went and got more sudafed today and orange juice. I'm using the saline spray in the mornings too.

I'm alone in the house right now. :/ I don't quite know what to do with myself. Hubby is at the neighbors house trying to fix her lawnmower and the neighbor's DD (cousin) just asked if my two kids could come over to play.

The day has been lovely but the wind is picking up a lot. I'm planning on doing laundry tomorrow and I hope it doesn't end up in the neighbor's yard

I took the kids to the park today and then we met with ANOTHER contractor about the garage plans. We have scaled it back to a 24x28 so that we have a single garage with a big storage room and small area for the lawnmower/gas cans/weed eater stuff. That should give hubby plenty of room to work on projects and it will give me some space for both freezers and seasonal items so that the barn (former shed) can house all my gardening supplies and goat stuff/feed and stanchion to milk the girls.

I am hoping to come in around $20000 but I'm thinking the concrete foundation is gonna put us over that a little. We are trying to shave it down a bit and get it done as cheaply as possible but not crappy work either. My husband just doesn't have the time to put into building this and doesn't have reliable help either. If he could take off time and have 3 or 4 hands to help he could probably do it but he just doesn't have the confidence in himself. The estimates for the materials are coming in around $12-14000 but the labor is gonna be at least $5k. Then the concrete and permits are gonna be another $3-4000. So that puts us around $20-24000 total. I am hoping we can get it lower but we'll see. We have another contractor working on an estimate for us and he should have it done by monday if not sooner.

Vicks helped a lot. And an antihistamine. The sudafed just made it thick so I felt like I was drowning in mud instead of in liquid. Yuck.

Hope you feel better soon! My sympathies!

I broke down and went to the doctor yesterday and I have a sinus infection as does most of the county judging by the inside of the doctor's office.

I am staying inside today....the temps are nice but we are having wind gusts of 30-40mph. My husband and his uncle are doing the fence this morning and then this afternoon he is going to home depot to get the barn and garden materials. We went with the 4x4 goat fence. He is bracing the corners right now and will stretch the fence later this afternoon when his cousin comes with the tractor to stretch the fence.

I feel like crap....I am just glad it is not pneumonia like so many others seem to have right now. Feel better everyone!

I hope you get to feeling better. You're not pregnant are you? That's the only time I would get sinus infections.

So I have been taking meds and putting up fence...so much for taking it easy, huh? Well, at least the fencing is done for the garden and the goats except for the gates!!! We went to Home Depot today and put in an order for delivery for the supplies for the barn and gates and garden beds.

Oh, and we snuck in a new grill for hubby's early birthday gift. Our last one got blown off the deck in a storm and we have been using a cheapy little charcoal one since but the wind is so bad up her we really need to switch to propane and it is almost rusted out completely in the bottom anyway. It wasn't bad, $269 and we got a cover for $20 and it has a side burner and lower storage cabinet too so that will be really nice for him and we can cook if there is a power outage. The lines are already run from our big tank to the deck where it will go.

The fences look really good and I can't wait for them to deliver all the lumber for everything tomorrow. I was supposed to babysit but I'm still sick and now Maddie is running a fever off and on and is complaining of a sore throat so I called and told them to try to find someone else if they could.

I'm still stuffy but I think I'll be okay, I have one or two days of meds left. Everyone is sick around here. Maddie was miserable last night and so combative we had to hold her down and force her to drink some liquid tylenol. She's been really sleepy too and now Tyler has a runny nose and a cough. Dang.

Medicine for everyone tonight!
