Kel- She's been battling with insomnia for the last year or so. She kept taking over the counter stuff and the doctor figured it was in her best interest to prescribe her something that the nurses could regulate. Problem is that they switched her prescription about a month ago and I think she is still trying to get used to the new one. We are thinking that it has just been pure exhaustion that is causing her to do this. Both times we have had to take her to the hospital lately she had had lots of stuff going on all day and she was just worn out. We went to see her yesterday and she was only on saline and resting pretty quietly. They wanted to do some more tests today and they were talking about letting her go home this evening. Chad was going to go to the hospital after work today and take her home if everything was okay.

Monday

Had a good time at the party Saturday night. The kids played until they dropped and my 4 yr old asked my BF's little 4 yr old DD to marry him!!! It was so sweet. :hit She said yes too! He just walked right up to her and said "Shelby, will you marry me?" He looked up at her with those baby blues and I thought I was gonna cry right there!

The neighbors had a lot of fireworks so we got to watch theirs. Tyler cried all the way home cause he didn't want to leave Shelby. We caved and let him sleep in the bed with us.

Busy today, cleaned out all the pens and the rabbit hutch, changed all the bedding in the nesting boxes, I'm on my 4th load of laundry and I'm hoping to mow the front yard a little later. We got a full day of rain yesterday and it ripped the tarp on the chicken run. Gotta fix that later. Chad is bringing home all of the free lumber to build the duck house this evening. I had to screw in some supports on my clothesline, one of the cross pieces was starting to turn. Right now Tyler is resting and watching a movie after we did some little activities in some of his preschool workbooks. Gonna go see Granny this weekend so I told her not to bring Maddie home and just keep her cause we'll be there Friday anyway. :( I miss my baby!

Wednesday

Well, we had hoped that Nanny would be able to come home monday but noooooooo. They told us tuesday and Chad stayed at the hospital all evening and they said no again. He was HOT! Hopefully she will be able to come home tonight. They did an EKG and an EEG and all her results are coming back fine so I wish they would just let her go home. She just seems to be so tired.

We got the frame for the duck house built...cost us about 3 dollars. We only needed to buy some support pieces. The rest was built from crates Chad got at work for free. We will still need to go buy some plywood and paint and maybe one pack of shingles. I shouldn't be too bad.

I have cucumbers coming out my ears. Crazy. I took some really cool pictures of the bees in my gladiolas that I will try to post later. Broody hen is doing well, shouldn't be too much longer now.

Going to Granny's house to retrieve my daughter either tomorrow or Friday. I am going to go with Tyler and we're leaving Chad here so that he can get some work done with the guide service. He got the website back up and running and posted the new rates. He has a seminar and a show to do in August and his mom wants him to be his partner in a fishing tournament the 18th of July. Gonna get real busy real quick around here. He's gonna have to start scouting soon and looking for the birds.

Well, gotta go make some bread and do a few things outside. Have a great day everyone!

Just got word about 20 minutes ago that they have discharged Nanny. Chad is leaving work early to go pick her up...thankfully his boss is letting him work 2 extra hours tomorrow to make it up so he won't lose any pay this week. I assume she is about the same. I'll know more when Chad gets home...we may take Tyler down to the river to go swimming and just relax a bit before dinner tonight. Chad is exhausted.

Thanks to everyone that has included Nanny in their prayers!

I have cucumbers coming out of my ears! I'm leaving to go to granny's for the weekend and I am taking her a big bag full!

Chad is going to stay here all weekend and try to get everything done for the mafia stuff....get all the books straight. He has already got every weekend booked for the early goose season! It's gonna get real crazy around here real quick. He goes to the orthopedic specialist today about his elbow so we'll see how that goes.

Unfortunately, Nanny went home Wednesday and had another spell on Thursday. They didn't call the ambulance this time, April (her caregiver) just took her pulse and blood pressure and monitored her until she came around again. She was on the toilet this time when it happened and we are wondering if she is straining to go to the bathroom and that is making her blood pressure bottom out. We don't know....it's frustrating. Chad wants to go see her this evening but he is on call tonight with the rescue squad and has to stay put.

Well, I counted the days and we should have baby chicks this week! It will be 21 days on monday so hopefully I'll come back from Granny's house to 4 new mutt chicks! Our silver appleyards are due to hatch in 2 weeks and Chad is hoping to work on the duck pen this weekend. He got a ton of free plywood yesterday from work so the duck house is only gonna cost us about 10 dollars!

Well, hope everyone has a good weekend!

Got a phone call from Chad Sunday morning and the eggs were hatching. She hatched all 4 eggs but sadly we have lost 2 of the chicks...they were small and looked a little weak so I wasn't surprised. This is her first time being broody so I am cautiously optimistic. The remaining two chicks look fluffy and lively and are peeping loudly. The kids are really excited and want to hold them badly but I won't let them.

We had a great time at Granny's house and Maddie is back home. I did the laundry today and scrubbed out the nesting boxes. Tonight we are going over to my BF's house for dinner and a movie.

Still have to finish the duck house...Chad got too excited watching for the chicks to hatch

Hope you feel better soon!

For sore throat, you can mix 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 T six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria and the honey soothes the throat.
