Hope you were able to accomplish much from your "to do" list for today. I wish I could get that motivated. It's especially hard for me in the winter.

A boarder would be a great start for your plans. Hope it works out.

BTW, a daughter's boyfriend can be a problem at any age..........as well as once they become your son-in-law.LOL I suppose it's true that no boy is ever really good enough for your daughter.LOL They can come close. Best of luck to you with your friend.

Well guys. We're a little confused here. The lady asked if she could bring her horse over today at 3pm, fine fine. She doesn't show, and mum calls them, they're having trouble getting her truck started, fine fine fair enough. HOWEVER, when the mother answered the phone, and my mum explained, she asked if it was CORI, now we know who CORI is, she owns a small horse boarding place just outside Trenton, she used to be one of my riding instructors, lovely place, board is cheaper there than here and closer to the girl. The girl insists she's still coming, but my mum is not sure if she thought she was talking to CORI, or what. There's some confusion over it on our end, especially since the mother thought it was CORI on the phone.

UGH.

And to top it all off, because we had some black-outs the well-pump froze in its box in the barn, the rest of the system is freeze proof but when the pump is off for so long without the heating light inside the barn, even a few drops can freeze up between the pump and faucet. Not good. So now we gotta thaw that out with the heatfan.

Good news, we finished the electric fencing, and removed the boulders from the field LOL. I'm almost not even annoyed that we might lose the boarder, it's too cold out and we don't have water direct to the field so we'd have to bring it down by hand in a large garbage pail.

We don't think they are coming, no complaint though as the well crapped out a bit today and we don't have much water down there. At least I FINALLY got the stupid electric fencing hooked up LOL.

yea being closer to your boarding farm is so much easier than a longer drive for a customer. I know. Before I had land I boarded and I always wanted a close stable.....I know......but I hope that boarder still comes.

Gosh you have had a busy day.

Hope the boarder showed but if not, there will be more. Just hang in there.

Well she didn't show. And it's not a big deal as there seams to be a problem with the well pump.

Today it was -20 outside! but it was awesomely sunny out, and all the chickens piled out of the pop door at 8:30AM to catch some of the sun. They stayed out until about 3pm sunning themselves!

Which leads me to... the topic of EGGS, we got 14 out of 15 eggs today! That means someone started laying today, we're hoping to get 15 tomorrow maybe? That'd be awesome.

Also, I thought I'd put this in here... I took a picture of the side of the house that the chimney would come out and up for the woodburner, I lied, there isn't a header in there LOL they took that out apparently, but no biggie! We can figure it out! ...

As you can see, this used to be the front of the house, and there would have been a cute little dormer.

Where the tall brick-up is, is where our stovepipe could vent out and up to the roof.

and just for fun, this is the back of our house with the master bedroom / and laundry/walk-in closet extension

Also, for much of the day I worked on the duck house, and got the rest of the trusses up.

And just so you know, this is more or less what the duck house will end up looking like, that door is their popdoor and they will have stairs or something.

Right now we're in a horribly uncertain time here. Dad is short on money, actually we're all short on money. By the end of January he has $5200 in source deductions to pay, plus his rent $850, plus $1300 a month in extra expenses for the next 5 months because he missed a payment or something on some government tax in relation to his stupid business.

Mum is looking for a job, but the money is tight so filling up the truck to go anywhere is almost impossible. ON TOP OF THAT I have a visa payment coming up of $45 (minimum) and now I have to think of taking money OFF my visa to buy chicken feed as I'm almost all out!

Yup, I'm doing it all myself! ... I'm actually pretty proud of myself LOL and I saved a bunch of cash today by not buying roofing for it and instead taking the whole ingreatcondition sheets of roofing metal off the chicken shack at the barn (they had meaties here at one time, but the building is falling down and the best part of it is a roof of steel that is in awesome condition.)
